"I… I didn't do anything to you…" Eric hastily tried to worm his way out of this. "I was only talking about
Nicholson. So, why do you, the young master of the Carter Family, want to stand on that thug's side?"
"Thug?" Jay narrowed his eyes and questioned sharply.
"Even Vice President Robinson of the Coliree Group also treats Mr. Nicholson with the utmost respect!
You are undoubtedly as bold as brass to act so presumptuously in front of him!"
Eric was stunned speechless, and so were the guests in attendance.
The whole hall fell into dead silence following Jay's powerful comment.
People's mouths were agape with incredulity.
The silence in the banquet hall felt like a black hole, and Eric felt as though the oxygen around him was
all sucked away.

Finally, he shrieked, "Dad! Save me! L-Let's just stop working with the Coliree Group altogether?!"
