Danica actually graduated from a prestigious school.But she married Theo right after becoming
Mrs.Dalton.
Theo sneered.
"Okay, see you at the Civil Affairs Bureau at eight-thirty tomorrow morning"
Danica did not see the point in sleeping in the same bed with Theo anymore.She turned and was about
to leave.
But a sudden force pulled her back onto the bed.Her eyes widened in shock as she fell on Theo's
sturdy chest.She could hear the loud beating of her heart while a lump in her throat was causing
difficulty in breathing.
Danica gulped.
"What are you doing? Didn't you agree to divorce already?" Theo lifted her chin.
Their eyes and body got locked with each other.
She swallowed hard as she heard Theo's heavy breath.Her heartbeat rampaged when he slowly
leaned into her ear.
"We are not divorced yet, so what's the fuss, huh? Why don't you just enjoy me for the time being?"
He smirked as he said those words, and Danica felt her whole body stiffen.
She closed her eyes and drew a deep breath before having the courage to look up and stare at Theo.
Theo was indeed good-looking and fit.
He was every woman's ideal husband, and women were also attracted to his attitude.He was an alpha
and liked being superior.
After this marriage, she might not find a man like him.Maybe he was right that she should just take
advantage of her situation.Theo was still smirking at her.
"What, hmm?" he taunted.
Danica stared into his eyes and slowly wrapped her slender arm around his nape.
It made Theo raise his brow.
Danica felt her heart was about to burst out of her chest.She was shaking like hell, but she didn't let
him see it.She took another deep breath and kept her stern but sultry look.
In their three years of marriage, she had never been so bold.She had always been shy and reserved, a
total opposite of Theo.Her boldness must have amused her husband that he couldn't properly look at
her.He looked confused with her actions, but it got replaced with a crooked smile seconds later.
"My, my, what's happening to my sweet, shy Danica, hmm?" Danica blushed a little, but she
immediately looked away.
She did not allow him to win her with words, so she took all the courage to face him and smirked at
him.She then cupped his face and pulled him into a deep and aggressive kiss.
The next day, Danica woke up without Theo on the bed.
Memories of what happened last night suddenly flashed, causing her cheeks to heat up.She covered
her face to suppress her scream.She couldn't believe what she allowed to happen last night.
But there was no use in feeling guilty, so she shook her head to calm herself.She looked at the wall
clock and immediately went out of bed.She remembered an appointment at the Civil Affairs Bureau,
and she was almost late.
Danica drove as fast as she could, thinking that Theo was already there.
It was already nine when she arrived, but Theo wasn't there.
She waited for another hour until she couldn't take it anymore.
She decided to call Theo.
"Where the hell are you? I'm already here, and I've been waiting for almost three hours!" She yelled
and felt like she was out of breath.
"Chill, I'm in Hale City" Theo chuckled.
Danica's eyes widened.
"What? You said we're going to settle the divorce procedure at eight-thirty!"
"Something happened to the project here that I needed to rush here," Theo reasoned.
Danica's mouth parted in shock because she couldn't believe him.
"If there's nothing else, I'll hang up” he added, ending the call and leaving her speechless.
Danica looked at her phone and yelled, "Ugh! This is so annoying!"
She stomped her feet in frustration because she waited for nothing and didn't even get a freaking
sorry.She was so furious at him that she felt like she needed to calm herself in the car.
‘‘That asshole made me waste three hours! I'm gonna punch him in the face! Unbelievable!’’ It took her
almost an hour to be able to do that.
She shook her head and decided to stop by Celestie's place.
Celestie was her best friend, a famous, glamorous, and beautiful actress.
She had been at the top of the showbiz pyramid, but she remained humble.
It was the reason why Danica treasured her.
To her, she was her go-to person.
Twenty minutes later, she arrived at Celestie’s house, where her best friend welcomed her excitedly
and held her hand.
"What's with the face?" Celestie asked as soon as they sat on the living room's couch.
Danica rolled her eyes.
"Theo and I are going to have a divorce” she answered.Celestie's eyes widened as she gave her a big
hug.
"Finally! You are now about to leave the sea of bitterness!"
Danica's lips twitched at her best friend's exaggeration.
Celestie was never a fan of her marriage ever since.
"On the serious note, Celestie sighed.
"I have already advised you to leave him before."
Her friend looked at her with a smile.
"At least now, you can start on your own-"
Danica didn't answer.She just bit her lip and sighed.
Celestie's hand caressed her back and grinned.
"Don't worry.I know so many handsome young men in the industry.I'll introduce you to them after the
divorce."
Danica immediately shook her head and said, "No, no, no! I don't want to be involved with celebrities or
in love anymore!"
"Oh, Danica"
Celestie mumbled sadly.
"Just because someone hurt you doesn't mean you have to stop accepting love.With your beauty and
talent, I know soon you will find someone that you'll truly be happy with."
Danica smiled sadly.
"It's fine.The world does not revolve around men.Besides, I think it's time for me to focus on my career’
she said.
Celestie did not reply but just gave her a reassuring smile.
After college, she didn't have the chance to explore her professional path because she immediately
married.
Now that the marriage didn't work, she could explore her field.
It was time for her to be a career-oriented woman and prove to everyone that even without Theo, she
could still stand on her own.
