Obtaining the Invitation
Niki kept saying, with sincere tone, as if she was really worried about Grandpa Graham’s
condition.
“Don’t cry, Miss Linch.” Lara looked at Niki who was crying, feeling at a loss.
“There must be a way out. Things will mend In the end. Cheer up.”
Niki nodded and wiped her tears with her hand. “Hmm, I won’t cry.”
After wiping away the few tears hanging on her face, Niki seemed to realize that her behavior was
somewhat inappropriate.
She was a bit embarrassed. “Miss Turner, I’m sorry. I was a little out of place. Sorry
about that.”
She spoke like this, but her hypocritical posture remained the same.
Lara waved her hand straightforwardly and said, “It’s okay. You’re worried about your
grandpa, that’s why you cried. I understand.”
Niki’s eyes were grateful and she seemed to kneel down. “Thank you very much, Miss
Turner, for your understanding.”
“Although Grandpa Graham is not very kind to me and doesn’t like me, he is an elder and
I still have great respect for him.”
The implied meaning of her words was very obvious.
She wanted to say that although Grandpa Graham was not kind to her, fortunately, she had a kind
heart, and never cared about these things. She was still very kind to Grandpa
Graham.
She was trying to boasting about herself!
Natalie stood behind her, listening expressionless as Niki was lying here.
These dramas had been used by Niki in front of Julian countless times, and Natalie had
long been tired of them.
“Didn’t she come up with some new tricks?” Natalie thought.
Get Boy
She pursed her lips tightly. She endured the nausea in her heart as she watched Niki play
for so long, losing her patience.
“Since grandpa fell ill, I’ve been running to the hospital almost twice a day. I can’t rest
assured that others are taking care of my grandpa.”
“But later I was kidnapped and injured my leg…” Niki looked at her leg and said, “I can no
longer go to the hospital to visit Grandpa Graham… Oh, I don’t know when he will wake
up.”
“If I were kidnapped later, I would have had more time to find a doctor for Grandpa. And
grandpa may not be the way he is now.”
Niki felt sorry for Grandpa Graham, frowning slightly, and her face was filled with
resentment towards herself.
“It’s my fault. I was kidnapped at the wrong time How could I hurt my leg when grandpa
was sick?”
Lara frowned and grabbed Niki’s hand, “Miss Linch, don’t say that!”
“No one could have predicted the kidnapping. Your leg hurt and you suffer. You are in
such a pain, and you are still thinking about others.”
“Oh, you’re too kind!” Commented Lara.
Niki’s eyelashes drooped slightly, and her eyes were somewhat red.
Lara couldn’t help but be moved when she looked at Niki like this.
Lara came from the Turner family and was the only daughter in the family. She naturally
grew up in clover, so that she was a little indulgent.
It was just because of this environment that she was well protected by her family and
had never seen the dark side of society.
There was a naive sense of justice in her, a fierce hatred of evil, and a forthright
disposition.
But that didn’t mean she didn’t know right and wrong, and didn’t know how to read
people.
The Turner family was a famous and prestigious family in New York. Although they only had one
daughter, they had many relatives.
These relatives kept an eye on her family every day, either scheming or admiring vanity, engaging in
intriguing against each other.
Lara had seen it enough and had been tired of it.
But as she grew up, she had rarely seen a girl like Niki with a soft looking and a kind
heart.
The only time Lara met a kind-hearted woman like Niki was when she was very young…
At the Spears family banquet when she was a child, a girl was the first to come to protect her when she
was at a loss. The way the girl smiled was clear and peaceful…
She still remembered it to this day.
She had a great liking for kind-hearted girls.
Lara came out of her memory and took the initiative to ask, “Is Grandpa Graham’s illness
serious?”
“Mmm.” Niki nodded lightly.
Lara thought for a moment and said, “There should be several invitations in our family
for this medical exchange conference. I’ll help you get one.”
“Really?!” Niki said in a surprised tone, as if flattered.
“Of course. I never tell lies.”
The excitement on Niki’s face was evident. As if she was afraid that Lara would turn
back later, she quickly spoke up, “Thank you very much, Miss Turner.”
“You are Grandpa Graham’s savior!”
With that, Niki pulled out her chair to and was about to kneel down, expressing gratitude
to Lara.
Perhaps to make Lara feel her sincerity, she knelt down straight, disregarding the gaze of
others in the room.
Lara only heard a thump.
She lowered her eyes to look at Niki and was startled. “Gosh, get up.”
“So many people are watching, and you still have injuries on your leg.”
Lara quickly reached out to pick up Niki.
“Thank you for your kindness. After Grandpa Graham is getting well, I will ask Julian to
invite you to our house.”
Lara waved her hand and said, “Not at all. Please think nothing of it. I’m just doing a
small favor.”
Natalie watched silently, with no expression at all.
It wasn’t until Niki knelt down that she was somewhat shocked.
Niki kneelt for whatever she wanted, regardless of the occasion. Natalie really “admired”
her for that.
Natalie listened for a while and as of now, Niki had not shown any negative thoughts towards the divine
doctor of the Spears family.
She spent the entire conversation at the exchange conference, clearly heading for the
invitation.
But Natalie knew that Niki was definitely not asking for an invitation to save Grandpa Graham, after all,
Niki was the one who made him this way.
“If Grandpa Graham could be saved, and had always been a vegetable, isn’t that what Niki wants?”
“Why did she bother to get the invitation?”
Natalie thought and didn’t understand.
She pursed her lips and didn’t listen to what Niki and Lara said anymore. She just walked straight
away.
As soon as she took few steps, the voice of the salesperson came from behind, “Miss, what are you
doing here? I just looked for you several times and didn’t find you!”
Although the voice was not that loud, it may be due to her excitement, it sounded harsh, and everyone
around could hear it clearly.
Natalie nodded and said, “I’m just walking around.”
“Do I have to sign?”
The salesperson quickly replied, “Yes, I have everything ready. All we need is your
signature!”
“Let’s go then.”
Then they walked towards the innermost room.
Sitting in the chair, Niki keenly heard the voice behind her. She felt it sounded so much
like Natalie.
Because of her hatred towards Natalie in her heart, she was very clear about anything
about Natalie.
That voice just now really sounded like Natalie.
Niki quickly turned her head to take a look.
But she only saw the back of a salesperson in a hurry.
“Did I hear it wrong?”
Niki stared at the back of the salesperson, muttering in her heart.
“Miss Linch, what’s wrong?” Lara followed Niki’s gaze and asked in confusion.
“Nothing.” Niki turned her head back and said, “I thought I saw someone I knew.”
“It shouldn’t be Natalie.”
“It’s impossible that Natalie happened to be here today to buy a car. Thought Niki.
She took a deep breath to comfort herself.
She should be happy now that she was about to get a priceless invitation!
Even Julian couldn’t get the invitation, but she got it!
Thinking of this, Niki got her smile back on her face.
