Chapter 1129Chapter 1129 Busy In The Kitchen

Ashlyn wasn't pleased when she saw the look in his eyes. Ugh! What kind of look is that? It makes me

feel so uncomfortable!

“Yes. That sounds nice,” Spencer chimed in.

Why is everyone urging us to become parents? Ashlyn couldn't help rolling her eyes. If I want to get

pregnant, I'll have to get rid of the Spirogyra in my body. I don't even know if it'll affect a child's growth

and development.

With that in mind, she glanced at Lucas and saw the longing look in his eyes.

She took a deep breath and said, “I'm tired.”

In the living room, Cassandra and Spencer exchanged a quiet glance, whispering to each other. “Boss

seems to be quite against having children.”

“Does Ms. Penelope not like babies?”

“I have no idea!” Cassandra pouted in frustration.

Suddenly, Lucas rose to his feet, his towering figure exceptionally imposing.

Spencer didn't know if he was overthinking, but he felt a sense of loneliness emanating from Lucas'

retreating figure. Lucas walked up to the bedroom door, gently pushed it open, and saw a slender figure standing by the

window, watching the snowflakes outside.

“If you don't want to have children, there's no need to force it. Child-free families can be quite happy

too.”

The man's magnetic voice suddenly echoed behind her.

Ashlyn slightly furrowed her brows and turned to look at Lucas. She saw the tall figure of the man

walking toward her with a gentle warmth spreading across his handsome face.

His cool and stern brows softened with indulgence when he said, “As long as you're happy, it doesn't

matter whether we have children or not.”

Ashlyn was confused. What on earth is this man on about? I'm just worried about the Spirogyra issue. I

didn't say I won't give birth! Of course, having a child would be the best outcome. However, what if I

really can't conceive? I'm not even sure about my own health condition. After all, Spirogyra is like a

ticking time bomb.

“I...” She wanted to explain, but she didn't know where to start.

“You don't have to explain yourself. I understand everything.” Lucas reached out his arms and held her

tightly in his embrace.

The man's broad chest carried a gentle warmth, ironing out the tension in her body. A sudden tightness gripped her heart, and she slowly closed her eyes.

Outside the window, a heavy snow was falling, yet inside it was as warm as spring.

Meanwhile, Cassandra and Spencer were downstairs, staring at each other unblinkingly.

Needless to say, the atmosphere was inexplicably awkward.

Suddenly, Cassandra's stomach let out a rumble.

While blushing, she uttered, “Well, the airplane food wasn't good, so I didn't eat. I'm a bit hungry now.”

“I-I'll go see what's in the kitchen,” Spencer said, smiling at the adorable Cassandra. Resisting the urge

to reach out and pat her head, he turned and headed for the kitchen.

Lucas had his own two-story mansion in Section Six, which came with a separate kitchen.

His cool and stern brows softened with indulgence when he said, “As long as you're happy, it doesn't

matter whether we have children or not.”

Even though there was a restaurant in Section Six, the fridge in the kitchen was fully stocked with all

the necessary ingredients.

With practiced ease, Spencer opened the refrigerator, found some lean meat, and then fetched some

fresh pasta.

With her little head peeking out, Cassandra stood at the door, looking into the kitchen. She saw a manwith a slender figure standing in front of the cabinet, cutting meat.

He skillfully minced the meat before he expertly fired up the stove and stir-fried it for a bit. After that, he

added the seasonings.

He also prepared some celery, which he chopped into small pieces.

What is he cooking? Cassandra caught a whiff of the delicious aroma of the stir-fry.

over and help me wash the vegetables.”

“Oh. All right.” Cassandra quickly rolled up her sleeves and rushed over, plunging the bunch of spinach

into the water basin.

She then went on to rub the green clean.

By the time Spencer was ready to use the vegetables, he found that the vegetables were all mushed.

He couldn't help but chuckle. “Why are you washing the vegetables so vigorously?”

Cassandra's face flushed red. She rubbed her hands together awkwardly and replied, “T-This is my first

time washing vegetables. I'm having a bit of trouble controlling my strength.”
