The elevator reached the first floor and its doors slowly opened. Seeing Josie remain silent, Angel grew
worried. “Ms. Jo…”
Regaining her composure, Josie took a deep breath. “I understand now. Thank you for telling me.”
Angel followed her out of the elevator, saying as they walked, “Ms. Jo, I’ve heard about what’s been
happening recently. I just want you to be okay, to not be deceived by others anymore, and to live a
good life.”
These sincere words touched Josie’s heart, leaving a bitter taste in her mouth. Only when she turned
around did she realize that there were hardly any people by her side who hadn’t deceived her. The
world is full of deception and exploitation, a realm of fame and gain that is completely corrupt.
The next day, she arranged to meet with Laura.
In the elegant cafe, Laura had reserved a spot early on, but she arrived fashionably late.
As Josie sipped her second cup of coffee, Laura finally pushed the door open and entered. “Hey,
Josie.”
Josie looked up and was startled to see Zach waiting outside, impatiently lighting a cigarette.She averted her gaze and calmly stated, “It seems your marriage has significantly improved.”
Laura looked somewhat embarrassed as she sat down. “The Olsen family has been very busy lately,
and I haven’t had much time. I could only ask him to drop me off. I wouldn’t have done it if I had any
other choice,” she said.

“No.” Josie knew what Laura wanted to ask. “In everything I’ve done, I never intended to live as Liana.”
“In that case, why did you do it?”
“I wanted justice.”
In fact, Laura had no idea that Josie had known her true identity all along. She assumed that this
woman was simply stubborn and foolish.
With a hint of embarrassment, Laura tugged at her lips. “Let’s not talk about that. I heard about what
you did yesterday. You really saved Dexter. That was impressive.”
Josie didn’t care about that. Instead, she continued to inquire about the situation of the Olsen family.
Laura paused again before saying, “Just like Russell Group, plagued by internal conflicts and external
threats, my abilities are limited. I can only do my best to prevent them. Are you asking because you
want to return? If so, you should talk to Claudia. She would agree.”She spoke quickly, eager to gauge Josie’s attitude as if she was worried about being suspected of
something.
Josie shook her head and looked into Laura’s eyes. “I have no intention of returning to the Olsen family.
We’ve been friends for two years, so you should know my character. Everything I’ve done is not out of
a desire to compete for anything. I just want to ask you to please manage the Olsen family in place of
Mark. You have the ability, and I trust you completely.”
Those words left Laura momentarily stunned. She hadn’t expected Josie to say something like that, nor
had she thought that Josie truly didn’t care about anything related to the Olsen family.
Laura was somewhat surprised. “Do you know how much the Olsen family’s assets are worth?”
“I know.”
“Summer was desperate to have it. Are you sure you don’t want it?”
