Pay Homage
A dazzling blue light erupted in the middle of the arena, as bright and intense as a burning flame. As
everyone watched the light swallow Jared, they also felt its menacing power.
Edgar smirked as he took in the scene in front of him. “One has to pay the price for boasting. I can
crush you to dust in less than five moves, yet you dare to utter all that empty talk.”
“Is that so?”
A calm voice rang out from within the blue light, and a blinding golden beam burst forth. Layers of
scales began appearing on Jared’s body, covering him like a suit of armor.
Under the illumination of the golden light, the blue ball of light vanished without a trace. Jared’s gaze
was filled with disdain and indifference as he stood unmoving. It looked like he was unscathed.
Edgar was stupefied, and the crowd was also puzzled. They could not grasp the extent of Jared’s
abilities.
Warren frowned. “Jared’s physical body is so strong! How did he train his Golem Body to such a
degree?”
“It’s because Edgar was too careless. He didn’t exert his full power just now,” Zion explained.
I can tell Edgar didn’t use his full strength. The way I see it, exerting only thirty percent of Sacred Light
Fist’s power will be sufficient. Jared will end up smashed to a pulp if Edgar attacks with too much
power.
Ryker did tell Edgar that the latter was only allowed to cripple Jared, not kill him. That was because
Jared would be of use to the Deragon family if he was alive.
Jared gazed at Edgar coldly, a look of utter indifference in his eyes. “That’s two moves. If you continue
attacking in such a lackadaisical manner, you won’t stand a chance after you’ve made five moves…”
Hearing that, Edgar clenched his jaw, and his face flushed with rage.
“That’s how you plan to tarnish the Deragon family’s reputation, isn’t it? Let me tell you this. I don’t
need you doing me any favors. If you’re a man, show us what you’ve got and fight me properly. Your
offer to let me make the first five moves is nothing more than a trap. Even if I defeat you in five moves,
it won’t be a fair victory. And if I fail to do so, it’ll make me look incapable. What’s the point of all that?”
he snapped, glaring at Jared darkly.
However, Jared broke into a grin. “Don’t take the measure of others with your inferior understanding. I
don’t care what you think. You still have three chances to take me down.”
Boiling with rage, Edgar hissed through clenched teeth, “If it weren’t because my father told me not to
kill you, do you think you’d still be standing there talking to me?”
With that, Edgar suddenly disappeared. Then, an overwhelming wave of aura rushed toward Jared, its
tremendous power blanketing the entire arena. At that moment, Edgar was like a massive blue
mountain pressing down on Jared mercilessly.
As Jared narrowed his eyes slightly, the golden light around him burgeoned, its piercing brilliance
glowing even brighter than the sun.
The immense wave of aura caused the arena’s floor to cave in, and Jared quickly fell through. Smoke
clouded the entire venue, debris was everywhere, and strong gusts of wind even started swirling in the
middle of the arena.
However, Jared’s body, still engulfed in golden light, landed steadily on his feet. He looked calm and
unruffled inside the gold-colored light. It was as if he had nothing to do with what was happening
around him.
Meanwhile, Edgar crashed heavily to the floor. The entire venue shook, and a large and deep crater
formed in the ground.
As Jared slowly rose from the giant crater, there was no change to the golden glow around him.
Instead, it became even more radiant.
The sight of Jared floating in mid-air resembled that of an immortal descending into the mortal world,
stirring one’s desire to kneel and pay homage!
In fact, several people at the venue were actually already on their knees facing Jared. The majestic
presence Jared exuded had directly affected their minds!
