"Is Caden okay? Is he choking on something?" Maddox walked to him and patted his back gently.

Caden grinned as someone had finally noticed him. "My throat was feeling weird earlier, I wasn't

choking. Uncle Maddox, you're such a good person!"

"What about me?" Kylah patted his head with a threatening look.

"Aunt Kylah is also a good person!" Caden immediately kissed up to her but expressed his

dissatisfaction at Lucy. "Only mommy is a bad person!"

Lucy had already removed mutton from a skewer and put it on a plate for Caden, but when she heard

that, she immediately kept the plate for herself. "Yup, I'm a bad person."

"Hehe, mommy is a good person, a great person!" Caden reached out secretly and pulled the plate

back bit by bit.

Seeing that Lucy did not tell him off, he shared the mutton with Maddox, whom he had decided was a

good person. "Uncle Maddox, mommy always tells me about you!"

Under Maddox's expectant gaze, Caden said confidently, "Mommy said you're handsome, smart, and...

anyway, you're good at everything! Besides, Mommy also...hmm!"

"Caden, I remember mutton is your favorite." Lucy smiled and stuffed a piece of mutton into his mouth.

She was certain that Caden wanted to say "Mommy also likes you!"

Caden got goosebumps from Lucy's smile and dared not spew any more nonsense. He snuggled up in

Kylah's embrace and ate.

Halfway through the meal, Maddox went outside to answer a call. When he came back, his expression

looked slightly troubled. "Sorry, I have urgent matters to see to. See you guys next time."

"Sure, Maddox!" Although Lucy was smiling, she actually felt worried... Arthur couldn't have done

something again, could he?

Kylah kicked Lucy under the table and said, "Lucy, hurry up and send Maddox off!"

"... There's no need. Carry on eating, guys." Maddox actually hoped to spend some time alone with

Lucy, but she was obviously slightly against the idea. Moreover, he really did have urgent matters to

tend to.

After he had hurried off, Kylah put down her lamb skewer and said fiercely, "Lucy, why didn't you

appreciate such a precious opportunity?"

Caden followed suit. "Lucy, why didn't you appreciate such a precious opportunity?"

"What a great job!" Lucy stood up and smacked each of them on the head. "Tell me, whose terrible

idea was this?!"

How dare they arrange a blind date without her permission!

Seeing that Lucy was really angry this time, they pointed at each other and said, "Aunt Kylah!"

"Caden!"

"I'm just four-year-old. Aunt Kylah, how could you bear to let a kid take the blame?" Caden looked hurt.

Kylah ruffled his hair. "It's all because you said that you wanted Maddox to be your daddy, so that's why

I tried to help you! Isn't that so?!"

Caden lowered his head and kept quiet.

The kids at kindergarten always said he didn't have a father, so he beat them up till they dared not say

so again. However, they started saying it behind his back... He wanted a father so badly!

"Fine, fine. This was my terrible idea, so I'll bear the consequences!" Kylah admitted defeat. "So, tell

me Lucy, how do you want to punish me?"

"Don't do such things without my permission again." Lucy carried Caden and kissed him on the cheek.

"Are you angry with mommy?"

"No." Caden hung his head and said in a muffled voice.

Kylah glared at Lucy. Great, now she had made the kid unhappy!

"Where did you say that game was sold last time? I don't remember!" Lucy whispered into Caden's ear.

Kylah immediately played along. "Oh dear, I don't remember either! Lucy, I guess we shouldn't buy it

then?"

"I know the place!" Caden couldn't help but say.

They went to the mall and bought the game before the mall closed.

Lucy wasn't sure if Arthur would suddenly show up at her place, so she made Caden continue staying

with Kylah.

"Mommy, why won't you let me go home?" Caden was down in the dumps.

"She's busy with work all day. Where's the fun in staying with her?" Kylah scoffed. "Come on, let's see

what toys your grandparents bought you!"

"Okay—" Caden leaned on Kylah's shoulder and waved at Lucy. "Goodbye, Mommy!"

"Bye, goodnight!" She had a son, but they couldn't be together openly. Lucy didn't know how that made

her feel.

After sending them off, she glanced at the time. It was already 10 p.m.

A news notification popped up on her phone, and Lucy clicked to read it——

"The Pate Group holds an emergency shareholders meeting!"

She took a deep breath and called Arthur.

Maddox must have left in such a hurry because of the emergency shareholders meeting. The Pate

Group must really be in very deep trouble...

Arthur took ages to pick up, but when he did, he said coldly, "Made up your mind?"

"Yes, I agree to reconcile with you. I will sign the contract and send it to you tomorrow." No matter how

reluctant she was, she could only do so.

"I want to see you in 15 minutes!" Arthur did not give her any room for rebuttal and hung up directly.

Lucy frowned as she looked at her phone. She called again, but this time, no one answered.

"B*stard!" She cursed and kicked at a pebble at her feet.

She wasn't very far away from Llindbarry Chateau where Arthur stayed, but she wasn't very near either.

The fastest she could get there was at least half and hour by car, but he only gave her 15 minutes!

Lucy tucked her hair behind her ear in annoyance and rushed into her car, driving towards Llindbarry

Chateau.

After waiting a minute or so after Lucy had driven off, Lizbeth followed in her car.

Ten minutes ago, when she had come out of the restaurant, she had seen Lucy by coincidence. Not

only that, she had heard a child call her mommy!

Lucy already had a b*stard child, and yet she dared to seduce Arthur! How shameless! Lizbeth had to

expose her true colors and make Arthur cut ties with that b*tch!

As Lucy drove, she felt a strong sense of being watched. It was as though a venomous snake had

pinned its gaze on her, and she got goosebumps all over.

At the traffic light, she cast a few glances backward, but saw nothing unusual.

However, when the light turned green and she started driving again, that sense of being watched came

back again.

Wait a second!

Lucy looked into the rearview mirror. She remembered seeing that red BMW somewhere!

Ding—

At the same time, she got a text.

"Seven minutes!"

It was from Arthur!
