“And that makes her the culprit?” Isaac growled as he got off the hospital bed and leveled an icy glare
at her. “Is she the one you punished?” The secretary kept her head down in silence. Fuming, Isaac
bellowed, “I’m asking you a question!” “Yes, sir,” the secretary finally replied. Isaac was hyperventilating
from sheer frustration, and the secretary quickly apologized. “Sorry, I slipped up…”
Isaac completely ignored her and stormed outside. Whitney, who had been standing by the door and
trying to get in, saw him coming out. After that accident, it was perfectly reasonable to say that she had
lost their child, and Isaac would not be able to say anything against that. “Isaac,” she called out, and
reached for his arm… Only for Isaac to knock her away furiously. “Move!” Whitney dropped to the floor
right then, but no one came to help or ask after her.
While Isaac’s secretary quickly headed outside and opened the door for him, he got into his car while
making a call. Soon, Zachary picked up. “Do you know where Irene is?”
“I do,” Zachary replied. “She’s been admitted to a hospital. I’m with her right now.” Isaac sald nothing
else and hung up, and told the secretary to drive to Central Hospital.
They arrived soon enough, and Isaac quickly alighted and strode inside, heading to the ward where
Irene was.
Zachary was standing outside when he saw him, and approached him, saying, “Irene’s pregnant, but
she suffered a miscarriage. I’m sure you know why.”
He said that on his own volition, because he did not consider Irene a stranger-she was
Isaac’s wise! Now that she had made up her mind to keep the surviving twin, she was definitely going
to divorce Isaac.
At the same time, Isaac’s tense reaction faded as his cheeks clenched. “What did you say? She’s
pregnant?”
As Zachary nodded, he felt as if his breath left his lungs as his chest tightened terribly!
She was pregnant? Whose child was it?! It could not have been his because he had never touched her!
“Calm down, Isaac. You both cheated on each other, don’t you think? Whitney Cox is pregnant with
your child, so you’re both even. Don’t get too upset, and try not to blame Irene too much. Just part
ways amicably…” Isaac, however, simply shoved Zachary away as he roared furiously, “Fuck off!”
He kicked open the door to Irene’s ward, but she did not react much because she knew he was there.
Getting agitated now would only hurt her child, which was why she must show restraint.
“Let’s get a divorce, Isaac,” she said calmly.
However, Isaac’s eyes were flaring with rage, his chest heaving as a fire seemed to spark within.
“Divorce? Just because you say so?”
While he could not help feeling heartache as he saw her lying feebly in bed, he was incensed by the
fact that she was pregnant with someone else’s child!
Even as he resisted the impulse to strangle her, he growled, “Who’s the father? Tell me.
Irene remained calm as ever. “You knew I was sleeping with other men already.”
A vein bulged over Isaac’s temple right then as he glared at her furiously. “Weren’t you taking morning
after pills? Were you cheating on me again after that?!”. “Yes, I did,” Irene replied. “I’ve cheated on you
on more than one occasion, so let’s get a divorce.”
