“Why don’t you guys go back first?” Elias suggested, after which Amanda nodded and bent over to pick
up the child. She understood what Elias meant and didn’t want to cause him any trouble.
Under such a circumstance, she had no choice but to leave with the kid first. Anyway, she had only
wanted to attend Howard’s funeral to pay her respects, but much to her surprise, Aiden suddenly
shouted at Jennifer, “My mom is not a jinx! You are the jinx!”
The kid’s high-pitched voice attracted the attention of everyone present at the funeral. Amanda was
startled as she didn’t expect the young kid to stand up for her. Does he even know what a jinx is?
Jennifer was astounded for a moment before bellowing. Is that what you’ve been teaching your son,
Amanda?! Oh, why would I even be surprised when you’re just a rude and mannerless woman? If he
were indeed a Winters, he would’ve been ruined by you!”
Her words were harsh as she looked down on Amanda and her family.
“Please mind your language, Mrs. Winters! There are minors around.” Amanda didn’t want to argue
with the older woman in front of Aiden, so she decided to turn around and leave.
Nevertheless, a relentless Jennifer ran after her and snapped. “You’re just a lowly woman. What right
do you have to give birth to a son for the Winterses? Why would we believe you when you claim the kid
is a -Winters without providing any evidence?”
No longer able to take it, Elias ordered, “That’s enough! Get her out of here, Yacob!”
Yacob, who was watching a good show, was shocked. He soon came to his senses and replied, “Right
away.” Then, he walked up to Jennifer and said, “Please come with me, Mrs. Winters.”
“What are you doing? Don’t you dare touch me! Get lost!” Jennifer bellowed with contempt written all
over her face. Now, she looked just like a maniac. Everyone present at the funeral started believing that
she was out of her mind.
Ignoring the older woman’s resistance. Yacob dragged her out of the funeral.
“Elias! I’m your mom! You can’t do this to me! How could you side with an outsider? I’m your mom!”
Regardless of how loud Jennifer shouted, Elias remained unfazed.
Just as Yacob was about to lug Jennifer out of the door, Elias said, “Send my mom to the nursing home
as soon as possible. She’s been slightly mental as of late, so please forgive her for causing trouble. I
apologize to all of you on her behalf.”
“Yes, Mr. Winters.”
When Jennifer heard her son was going to send her to the nursing home, her eyes widened with fear.
She had just left that place, but now she was forced to return. She madly shook her head and yelled,
“No, Elias! I’m sorry! Don’t send me to that place!”
The man ignored her regardless of how hard she shouted.
All the people at the funeral started whispering among themselves.
“I heard that Mr. Jensly and his wife have been living in a foreign country. Why does it look like Mrs.
Winters is slightly mental? Has she been staying in a nursing home? What about Mr. Jensly?”
“Shh… You’d better not inquire about the Winterses’ affairs. Otherwise, you’ll get into trouble!”
“All the Winterses are mysterious. I wonder why Old Mr. Winters passed away all of a sudden. Did he
die from an illness? Or was it an accident?”
“Who knows? Also, who’s the young woman carrying a child?”
“Don’t you think the young boy looks like Mr. Winters? Could he be Mr. Winters’ illegitimate son?”
As Amanda listened to their discussions, she held the young boy tighter and hastened her pace to
leave as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Elias clenched his fists as he watched them leave. Since they didn’t announce their
marriage at that time, no one knew he and Amanda were married. As such, no one understood why
there was a kid at the funeral all of a sudden.
Elias decided that he was going to announce his son’s existence to the public after the funeral. He
wouldn’t want his son to be called an illegitimate child.
Just as Amanda was about to step out of the door, Oscar appeared suddenly and bellowed, “You
murderer! How did you have the nerve to attend Old Mr. Winters’ funeral?”
Upon hearing that, all of them broke into a commotion.

Nevertheless, they were still shocked upon hearing Oscar’s words.
“What’s going on? Did he just call the woman a murderer?”
“I know him. He’s been Old Mr. Winters’ butler for many years. Whenever I visited Old Mr. Winters in
the past, it was this butler who greeted me.”
“My goodness! Is it a murder case now? Does it mean Old Mr. Winters didn’t die from an illness or old
age?”
When Amanda heard the older man’s words, she was rooted to the spot. The murmurs around plunged
her into a state of distress. Aiden looked at the old butler, whose hair and beard were all white.
“My mom is not a murderer!” the child snapped, standing up for what he believed was the truth. Little
did he know that his mother was on the brink of tears because of his defense.
Only her son would steadfastly stand by her, and he wouldn’t believe whatever others said about her.
“Do you have any evidence? How could you call me a murderer? I understand that you must be
distraught after Old Mr. Winters passed away, but you can’t just call me a murderer without any
evidence.” Amanda only wanted to leave with Aiden. She didn’t want to make a fuss at Howard’s
funeral so that he could rest in peace.
“Are you
sick of living, Mr. Pate? I welcome you if you’re here to pay respects to my grandfather. However, if
you’re here to make a scene, get lost right away!” Elias was enraged. He didn’t want to kick up a storm
at Howard’s funeral, but everyone seemed determined to go against him..
All of a sudden, his head started aching terribly. Why would I get a headache at this point?
The man placed his hand on his forehead and shook his head. He couldn’t collapse at such a moment.
However, an agitated Oscar yelled, “Mr. Winters! Why are you unwilling to look into Old Mr. Winters’
