Chapter 42: The new manager
Grey couldn’t stop laughing. He knew something was off the moment he stepped inside the lobby. He
took the water from the woman and took a sip.
“I’m going to leave this place because I have somewhere else to be bul,” Grey whirled around to look at
Marvin that was already up with the help of others
“Who are you really?” There was a shocked expression on his face as he watched Grey curiously
Grey smiled slyly. “Your worst nightmare. Anyways, you and the rest would clean this whole place up
now. I need to get to the head of the secretaries office,” he explained.
The men groaned in complaint.
Grey’s gaze searched around him.” You don’t want to clean?”
“We will,” Marvin replied quickly. “Is there anything else you want?’
“Everything that happened in this room remains in this room And you are not allowed to tell anyone
Just let them know you’ve dealt with me as well,” his smile widened.” Like you do with others Do you
get it?”
Marvin nodded quickly “We will do just that”
“I will excuse myself then,” Grey took a short bow before he walked out of the office.
He went down the elevator and located another one by the night. The building was so spacious that
Grey almost got lost in it.
Finally, he arrived at the office he had been looking for. He knocked on it slightly.
“Yes, come in a soft voice invited
Grey opened the door and stepped in. The room was even spacious and the settings were very unique
“Yes, how may I help you?” A lady was by the desk and looking up at Grey
Grey remembered her. She was the one that met with Giovanni the other day,
“Well, I’m Grey Funnel. I got transferred here from Alfred’s company. I’m supposed to be a secretary,”
he explained
The lady regarded him for a moment, then dialed a line on her telephone. “Hello Jude, get in right now.”
she dropped the call and looked at Grey again. “The guy that’s going to take you to the company is
almost here.”
Grey didn’t hear her the first time until something in his ears interpreted it for him. “Wait, what? I’m
supposed to work here as the secretary.”
“Oh no,” she shook her head dramatically. I’m sorry to shut your illusion but we have enough
secretaries, Meanwhile, there’s a branch company that needs a manager urgently. You could fill up the
spaces,” she revealed
Grey stared at her with shock. He didn’t even understand what was happening. Alfred said he would
have to be a secretary to spy on her but she was going to transfer him to another branch company.
A soft knock sounded on the door and a guy walked in.
“Hey. Jude. Please, take Grey to SU world,” she said politely and resumed what she was doing on the
laptop
Grey hesitated
She looked up again if you don’t want to go, you may as well go to your house. You should consider
yourself lucky because you will be the manager of SU world.”
Grey nodded ‘I will accept it,” he sighed, ‘I’m glad I got the job anyways,” he smiled and walked out with
Jude
Grey and Jude arrived at the office. It was a small company compared to what Grey had in mind.
There were approximately fifty employees and it was rather too small. The workers lined up the
moment Jude and Grey walked in. It was like they had been alerted to his arrival
“So, we have a new manager,” Jude started. “Here’s Grey Funnel,’ he introduced and gestured towards
Grey. All work will be transferred back to him and he will decide on anything business related,
understoogd?”
“Yes, sir,” they all chorused.
Thank you, everyone. Well, I expect that we should work even harder to make this company a better
one. Grey gave a short speech, and claps of applause exploded.
“Alright,” Jude said quickly. Someone can show Mr. Grey to his office then,” there was a smile on his
face as he turned to Grey “I will leave you to it then I have to go back to Pubblicita.”
Grey nodded and they shook hands before Jude walked out of the company
“May I show you to your office?” A soft voice cut through Grey’s thoughts He looked at a lady and
through her lag, he was able to discover her name as Linda
“Sure, let’s go,” he told her.
The workers have settled down now as Grey moved towards his office. It was a relatively small room
but it was beautifully decorated
His phone rang immediately he stepped in It was Aphrodite So, he waited for Linda to walk out before
he picked it up
“Hi, Novia”
Aphrodite laughed. “I actually love it when you call me Novia. I wanted to see if you will be available
this evening. We can see and have some chat,” she suggested
Grey thought about it quickly.” Sure, that’s fine Where and when?”
“I will text you all that,’ she concluded and the line went off
