3 Days Later
Max had broken through his every contact, every favor to gain access to the inside barrier of
undergrounds but there was no trace of Hope. He could not even trace the car number to the end of
the ground hole. His frustration and anger had shot up to the head, his mind was ready to explode.
He was afraid for her safety, each day was spent in trying to control himself from losing his shit. But
there was no trace left behind of Hope. It felt like she had just disappeared into thin air.

"How the hell did this happen?" Ethan shouted in a murderous tone, "what the hell went wrong?"
"We do not know yet, boss." Ethan's right hand man, Slick, responded immediately, "the only news so
far is that they have taken over the lower downtown area completely and the territory has been
claimed."
"That's our main business, you fucking moron!" Ethan roared, "how the fuck did that happen and we did
not even get a hint of it?!"
"They did it overnight." Slick growled, "they had probably planned for months and then attacked."
"Only Varys is responsible for it?" Ethan gritted.
"Yes, boss."

"He is getting desperate." Jack said to Varys who was still looking at his reflection in mirror calmly,
"He knows what I want?"
"We delivered the message." Jack scratched his chin with a smirk, "Don't think he is going to refuse the
demand."
Varys' eyes glittered with determination. There was only one thing he wanted right now. And Ethan held
the string.
"He got ready so easily? No remorse or fight?"
"He seems to be focused on getting his business more than that. His goal was clear and so was ours.
Even if he had refused, it is not like you were going to back off." Jack smirked.
Varys turned his gaze away from the mirror, removing the bandage from his hand. What Jack said was
not false. He was determined on getting what he wanted. Throwing Ethan out of his way was just the
first step.

"Don't touch me!" Hope hissed in a murderous tone. Her arms were tied behind her back and a
blindfold was covering her eyes. Her heart was beating loudly. She did not know what was happening.
Ethan had just kept her captured, not letting her out of his sight until she told him she was going to be a
good wife and stick to his side only.
Then suddenly she had woken up only to get dragged somewhere with her hands tied and eyes
blindfolded. Ethan had not come, instead he had sent two of his men who seemed to be adamant on
not answering any of her questions.
She was dragged to a car, thrown inside and then taken somewhere. And then before she knew it, they
had literally thrown her out of the car and drove off!
"What the hell?!" she whispered, a little bit scared in all honesty. They had not said a word to her all the
way and Ethan had not even come to her room to threaten her from past twenty four hours.
There was some shuffling sound and then hands on her arms without any words. They took her
through some place and then she almost fell down feeling the stairs against the tip of her feet.
"Stairs." The man holding her arms growled.. or spoke? His voice was pretty heavy. And was not it too
late to growl the word now? She gritted her teeth.
After they had climbed up a spiralled staircase, she was hit with wind whooshing around her, blowing
her hair away. The man left her arms and then she was left with a chilling silence.
A moment passed and then two, she heard nothing. But then she felt a pair of hands slither up her
cheeks, she immediately flinched away as a reflex. The hands stilled, not moving from her cheeks but
not making any movement either.
Once she stilled a bit, the hands slid up in her hair, fingers fumbling with something. And then she
realized that those fingers were trying to untie the blindfold wrapped around her eyes.
Her breaths quickened in anticipation. A lingering scent slid in her nose as she inhaled deep. A manly
scent that felt all too familiar but hard to put her finger upon to recognize. She recognized the scent,
fresh, minty, a bit heavy but mouthwatering, not overwhelming but soothing and then a mix of musk.
Her mind was racing while her heart tried to calm at an even pace, trying to figure out why she had
suddenly become so unsteady on her feet and wild in her head. There was something wrong, or was
everything wrong?
The person standing was so close to her, almost intimate. It was a man for sure, his hands were rough
when they had touched her cheeks, and big, almost engulfing her whole face, and the angle of his
fingers untying the blindfold made it clear that he was a few inches, or a couple of feet taller than her
for sure.
Her heart was racing like a wild thunder inside her, her blood rushing hot. The scent engulfed her
completely and she could not help but lean forward in the arms of the person, her body going soft in
recognition.
The Blindfold fell away from her eyes. Sharp light hit her straight, almost blinding her. But then the
person was immediately in front of her as she clenched her eyes shut in mild pain, the light was too
harsh. There seemed to be a floor to ceiling window right in front of her eyes.
"Who the fuck opened these blinds?" She heard a loud angry growl leaving from the chest of the man
standing against her, terrifying growl.
She flinched again but his hand slipped down to her neck, sliding up and down soothingly. There was
some quick shuffling, fast footsteps running inside and then out of the room.
She slowly opened her eyes then, cautious to not snap them open and go blind again. Her eyes lifted
up, and her breath left her body,
"Varys?" she breathed.
