“David, what exactly do you wanna do?”
“Go to the city hall and get married!”
Rachel’s heart skipped a beat.
She found it hard to keep up with David.
Everything was alright a second ago, but now he wanted to get married right away?!
When they walked past a stone pillar of the pavilion, Rachel quickly grabbed it and hung onto it like a
sloth.
David had to stop walking and turned to look at her.
“What’s the matter with you? Since when did I agree to marry you?” Rachel looked at him, not knowing
whether to laugh or cry.
David frowned and asked, “Weren’t you just giving me a hint that I should give you my last name to
prevent other men from coveting you?”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Rachel shook off his hand speechlessly. “I was only telling you
that as my boyfriend, shouldn’t you be more tolerant? Besides, shouldn’t there be a process before
registering your marriage, right?
“A process?”
David’s frown deepened.
Rachel chuckled, “We have to have a ceremony and everything, right? Otherwise, what will I become?”
“Sorry, I wasn’t being considerate enough,” David said.
Rachel looked at the serious look on his face and laughed even harder.
She poked David’s chest and said with a straight face, “Mr. Jones, I’m not that easy to get. You have to
work harder.”
With that, she left giggling with her hands behind her back.
David stood still as he watched her leave with love and tenderness in his
eyes.
He took out his phone and called Jimmy.
“David.” Jimmy picked up the phone on the other side of the line.
David answered and cut to the chase, “Have you found the thing I asked you to search for?”
At the mention of this, Jimmy scratched his head and answered, “David, if you want me to find a
diamond of good quality, I can get it for you in a minute, but why do you have to make me get a 21–
carat diamond?”
“Keep searching if you can’t find it!” David’s husky voice was cold as usual.
He hung up the phone and walked towards the living room with one hand in his pocket.
Right now, everyone was taking their seats one after another. Rachel naturally sat with David while
Katy sat next to Zion under the
arrangement of the Summers family.
Everyone could tell that they were deliberately trying to matchmake Katy and Zion.
Zion looked indifferent and was clearly not interested in Katy.
At the dining table, Rachel ate quietly but she could feel Zion staring at her;
That scorching gaze was really hard to ignore.
Under his gaze, David became even gloomier and the tension was mounting up around him.
For some reason, everyone felt like it was their last dinner.
Sophie and Stuart locked eyes and gave each other a look.
Stuart cleared his throat and started talking about business matters. “Actually, I know why Miss Grey
visited this time. You’re just hoping that I will withdraw my investment in Smith Group. But there’s one
thing I don’t understand. Even if I withdraw my investment in Smith Group, what good will it do you?”
“It’ll do no good for me, but it’s very good for Mr. Zane.” Rachel put down the fork in her hand and
picked up the handkerchief on the table. She slowly wiped her mouth elegantly.
