“Is that so?”
Thalia hesitated but said nothing, just smiling innocently at Christina.
Christina felt confused. What a strange girl!
Thalia didn’t seem like one of those young girls of wealth, much less the type that Finley liked.
After getting into the car with Terrence, Alexa received a message from Thalia to tell her about what
had just happened.
Alexa accidentally turned on the speakerphone and Thalia’s voice suddenly rang out.
“Finley is a playboy, although he covered it up well on the surface. Is Terrence the same?”
“Ahem…”
Awkwardly, Alexa glanced at Terrence.
“A playboy?” Terrence repeated the word.
“She’s just gossiping!” Alexa said in embarrassment, “Don’t take it seriously!”
“I’m not like him.”
“I know.”
Alexa muttered, not intending to make things difficult for him on this matter at all.But Terrence suddenly
turned to her.
“I don’t play around even in private.”
“I know you don’t.”
Alexa nodded and looked up lazily.
“You are the type of man who would only have sex with the one specific woman he loves. I like that.”
Terrence’s hand that was holding the steering wheel tightened, and his knuckles turned white.
Alexa smiled.
“What are you so nervous about? You act like a college boy!”
“We’ll discuss it when we get home.”
“Discuss what?”
Terrence’s expression became even more strange.
“I don’t want to talk about it now.”
“Fine,” Alexa raised her hand innocently, “You’re blushing, by the way.”
Terrence’s blood surged and he almost stepped on the wrong brake.
Alexa went on reading the messages from Thalia to complain about Finley. In just a few minutes, Thalia
had sent several messages over.
“If he doesn’t like you, why force him? There are still many good men in the world.”
“No,” Thalia answered simply, “He is the only one I want.”
There were a lot of people we would run into in life, but some of them were destiny.
Right now, that was exactly what Thalia felt about Finley.
Alexa could not understand. She did not know what to say.
The reason why Finley kept changing girlfriends was partly for Thalia to see.
Thalia must know it, too.
But it seemed that Thalia was to continue pretending.
What a perfect match the two for each other!
Alexa sighed. Just then, Finley called.
“Is Thalia with you?”
His tone was as sharp as ice.
“Ah…, No,” Alexa was puzzled, “What happened?”
“Nothing,” Finley’s attitude eased a little, “I thought she ran away with you.”
The worry in his words was not fake.
“Since you’re worried about her, why didn’t you just call her?”
There was a moment of silence on the other side of the line. Then, Finley resolutely denied it.
“I’m not worried about her. I just don’t want to cause trouble for myself.”
“I see…,” Alexa replied meaningfully. Then, she changed the topic, “Thalia contacted me just now.”
“What did she say?”
“I won’t tell you,” Alexa chuckled, “If you want to know, ask her yourself.”
Alexa hung up the phone, not giving Finley a chance to ask questions.
Terrence didn’t care about Finley or Thalia, but now, Alexa was involved.
“What exactly happened between them?”
“What do you think?” Alexa threw the question back.
“One refused to let go and the other refused to admit it,” Terrence frowned,
“How strange!”
“You’re right,” Alexa nodded in approval and looked at Terrence’s profile with a meaningful gaze, “Then
can you tell me now what exactly are you hiding from me?”
Terrence’s eyes flickered. But just when he was about to speak, Terrence noticed something from the
rearview mirror.
There was a car following them.
Alexa also noticed it, but she sneered disdainfully.
“What is that?”
“Don’t be afraid. Trust me.”
Alexa was not nervous at all. Instead, she smiled brightly.
“Honey, you know I always trust you.”
Terrence flexibly manipulated the steering wheel and quickly shook off the car that was following them.
Edwin sent more people, and Alexa soon heard an extremely harsh sound of friction coming from the
corner behind them.
“It’s fine,” Terrence said calmly.
Terrence sent Alexa safely home. Soon, Edwin came to report the situation.
“Mr. Ramsey, we’ve taken care of those people.”
“Edwin,” Alexa shouted out, “Who are they?”
“Rayan’s men,” Edwin replied calmly.
The night passed quickly.
The next day, the news broke out that Rayan had used his position to embezzle huge amounts of
public funds. Now with the evidence provided by Thalia, Rayan was jailed.
The Biddell family collapsed overnight.
Raymond and Melody came to plead with Terrence, but he did not see them at all.
“The best Rayan could get is life imprisonment,” Alexa read the document calmly, “Is that what
Raymond and Melody want?”
“I won’t let him get away so easily,” Terrence said indifferently.
If Rayan had not taken the risk last night and attempted to kill him and
Alexa, Terrence would not have been so ruthless.
“Thalia has already gone to see him,” Alexa was relaxed, “It’s time to end this all.”
Rayan did not expect Thalia to see him.
They sat opposite each other through the glass barrier. Rayan’s haggard face already had stubble,
while Thalia was smiling.
“Do you know how long I’ve waited for this moment?” Thalia said calmly, “It has been four years.”
“You…”
Rayan muttered, a look of disbelief flashing across his eyes.
“Do you really think I would forgive you, Rayan?” Thalia was almost about to laugh, “Every time I see
you, I want you dead.”
“Did you collude with Terrence against me? Bitch! I will kill you when I get out!”
Rayan got up in a rage, but he was stopped by two prison guards in an Instant.
“Let’s talk about it if you could come out alive,” Thalia sneered, “Your parents wanted to force me to
write a letter of understanding. How ridiculous!”
“Thalia, I have treated you well, haven’t I?”
“Rayan, I will make you suffer a thousand times as much as I had. The days are still long.”
Thalia’s words chilled Rayan. But before he could scream, Rayan was taken back by the prison guards.
Thalia came out of the prison and saw the clear and cloudless sky. She narrowed her eyes and looked
up. Only then did she feel a trace of warmth around her.
“Four years…”
Thalia smiled bitterly and vaguely saw a figure standing in the distance.
Finley stood straight by the car and looked at her quietly.
When Thalia saw him, he still had a smile on his face.
“Are you waiting for me?”
Finley showed no expression, even his tone was flat.
“She asked me to pick you up.”
Thalia knew that the “she” Finley was talking about was Alexa.
“Thank you for coming.”
