Am I out of Play
After Ziana finished speaking, she turned away, leaving him only her back.
Boris’ eyes glistened with warmth as he watched her. He turned his head slightly and took a deep
breath, but the dull ache in his heart cut like a knife, still making him feel like crying.
He could still hear her pleas echoing in his ears.
She said that he only brought her pain and pleaded with him to let her go.
But… But… Was it really just pain?
He remembered the joyful times. How could she forget them? How could she say it’s only pain?
Boris couldn’t control himself. He looked down and gave a bitter smile, his gaze becoming increasingly
blurry.
It wasn’t until the doorbell rang that he hastily rubbed his face and put on his clothes to answer the
door.
“Boris!” Steven cheerfully handed him two bags of clothes, winking and whispering, “How’s it going?”
Boris shook his head, a look of disappointment on his face. “What about the food you bought?”
Only then did Steven notice that Boris’ eyes were red, as if Boris had been crying, and he was
immediately shocked. “Boris, Boris, your eyes…”
“What about the food?” Boris impatiently interrupted him.
Not daring to provoke Boris, Steven handed over the food, and before he could speak, the door
slammed shut.
Boris handed the clothes to Ziana. “The clothes have arrived. Finish getting ready, and let’s go out for a
meal.”
He left the bedroom and quickly tidied up outside. In just two minutes, Ziana came out.
“Ziana, the food is still hot,” Boris said gently, “Skipping breakfast isn’t good for your stomach.”
But Ziana didn’t even look at him. She directly opened the door and locked eyes with Steven, who was
waiting outside.
Steven awkwardly smiled. “Ziana… What a coincidence! Good morning!”
“Move aside!” Ziana’s face was cold, like a thorny rose, and her tone was unusually sharp.
“Oh, right.” He instinctively tried to make way, but in the next moment, Boris’ voice suddenly came
through. “Stop her!”
He hurriedly caught up, cautiously trying to please her. “Have breakfast before you leave, okay?”
Ziana turned her head and looked at him. “I don’t want to eat. Are you going to force me again?”
Boris fell silent, changed his tone, and said, “Alright, then, don’t eat. How are you going back later?
Shall I ask Steven to drive you?”
“You don’t need to worry about it. Right now, all you need to do is make him move out of the way.”
Ziana’s patience was wearing thin.
Steven looked at Ziana, then at Boris, too afraid to interfere.
After a moment, Boris spoke up, “I will find out what happened last night. Steven just moves out of the
way.”
Ziana immediately left without looking back.
Only when her figure completely disappeared did Steven finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Boris walked back to the private room, and he quickly followed. He was full of confusion. “Boris, last
night, didn’t you make love? Why did things not get better but instead worse? I mean, didn’t you explain
the reason for the divorce to her, as I suggested?”
“I explained,” he sat on the sofa, his face pale, and answered, “She said I brought her nothing but
pain.”
“What?” Steven was stunned.
That was too harsh. No wonder Boris looked so desolate and sad.
He furrowed his brow and said, “No way… How did you explain it to her in the end? Did you follow my
instructions?”
“Yes.”
“And did you say that the reason for the divorce was to protect her?”
“Yes, I did.”
“How did she react?”
“She said I was arrogant and presumptuous.”
Steven blurted out, “Well, she’s not entirely wrong.”
The room fell silent.
Steven realized what Boris had said and forced a smile. “Well, did you explain the situation between
you and Vivi?”
Boris leaned back on the couch, rubbing his forehead. “Yes, I did.”
He proceeded to narrate the whole ordeal, and with a trembling voice, he said, “She said she wouldn’t
repeat the same mistakes, begged me to spare her. Do I still have a chance?”
Steven had never imagined that Boris would also have a day when he was troubled and wounded by
love.
Now, witnessing it with his own eyes, Steven felt nothing but shock and compassion in his heart.
Having witnessed Boris’ confident and strategic nature, Steven had always assumed that Boris was
that kind of person.
But today, Steven saw his vulnerability as if once he agreed, he would be completely overwhelmed.
Steven’s expression turned serious as he said, “You didn’t know how to love before, and you didn’t
understand love. Your love wasn’t what she wanted. She was just hurt by you. So now, starting from
this moment, change yourself, love her in the way she desires, become a completely new person, and
make her fall in love with you again.
“Boris, if you don’t want to give up, then don’t give up!”
Boris remained silent for a long time before resolutely and excitedly saying, “Alright.”
When pursuing a woman, one should not be too concerned about saving face. A good woman feared a
persistent suitor. Boris needed to change for the better and pursue her anew!
Ziana departed from the bar and returned to the Scott family’s castle.
Upon entering the living room, Marlyn and Gigi turned their gaze toward her.
“Ziana!” Marlyn exclaimed with a smile, “Gigi and I were just talking about you. How was your evening
last night? Did you have a great time?”
Dragging her weary body, Ziana walked over and sat on the couch. “It was fun,” she replied.
“Well, that’s good to hear. But I called you this morning. Why didn’t you answer?” Gigi asked.
“Why would you call me?” Ziana absentmindedly touched her pocket and realized she had changed
clothes and couldn’t find her phone. She continued, “I was having such a great time that I have no idea
where I left my phone.”
Upon hearing this, Gigi promptly said, “I’ll call the bar and ask them to look for it. If they find it, they can
return it to you.”
“Great, thanks.”
Gigi went to make the call while Marlyn leaned in quietly and asked Ziana, “Why do you look so tired?
Did you not sleep well?”
Ziana’s expression stiffened as she thought about the events of last night, causing her cheeks to flush.
Feeling guilty, Ziana replied, “We stayed up late having fun. I haven’t pulled an all-nighter in a while, so
I feel a bit exhausted as I haven’t fully recovered.”
“Well, you should go upstairs and take a nap,” Marlyn urged with concern.
Ziana noticed the booklet Marlyn was holding and exclaimed, “Marlyn, are you looking at wedding
dresses?”
“Yes!” Marlyn shared the good news. “Luke and I didn’t have a formal wedding, but
Mom suggested that we have a ceremony. Since Yudel and Gigi are also getting married, we thought
we could prepare together. Today, Gigi mentioned wanting to see wedding dresses, so I thought of
calling you and asking you to come back as soon as possible to give us some ideas.”
“But…” Marlyn pouted. “I haven’t seen any that I like, and neither has Gigi. They’re either too heavily
designed or too plain and ordinary.”
Ziana took the booklet from her and flipped through a couple of pages before closing it.
The designs were decent but nothing particularly stunning.
“Marlyn, what kind of wedding dress do you want? I could try designing one for you,”
Ziana suggested with a smile.
Marlyn didn’t hold back her excitement and looked at her like an amazed young girl. “Wow! Really?”
“Yes, a few years ago, I designed the Dream Building. Do you like that kind of feeling? What do you
think of the design?” Ziana asked.
Marlyn was stunned, quietly staring at her for a moment. Then, she suddenly grabbed Ziana’s hand,
exclaiming excitedly, “Ziana! So you’re the one who designed Dream Building! You’re Master Alphabet!
No wonder Luke said I should ask for your opinion when choosing a wedding dress! You’re… You’re
amazing!”
She genuinely admired and marveled at Ziana!
Back when Marlyn was still with her ex-boyfriend, she had fantasized about having
Master Alphabet design her wedding dress.
She never expected that she would actually have the Master Alphabet design for her, but her past
relationship had already ended.
Regaining her focus, Marlyn smiled warmly and hugged Ziana. “If you design it for me, why would I
doubt it? We’ll go with your vision. I was once the biggest fan of Master Alphabet. I’ll love whatever you
come up with!”
Ziana couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time. However, considering that she would be
spending her days and nights with Marlyn in the future, she replied, “Let me think first. We can discuss
and make modifications while designing, Just let me know the style you desire whenever you want.”
“Alright! You’re amazing, Ziana!” Marlyn hugged her again. “No wonder I was instantly drawn to you!”
“What?” Ziana was puzzled.
Marlyn winked. “When you participated in the Coupling Reality Show, I fell for you at first sight. I
campaigned and voted for you. I even became the host of your online fan club and the captain of your
fan support team! When Lake proposed to me, if he hadn’t been your brother, I would have had to think
twice before accepting!”.
Marlyn’s words made Ziana genuinely happy, and any discomfort she had with Boris had been pushed
aside.
Teasingly, Ziana remarked, “So, you’re saying that Luke managed to find a wife all because of my
reputation?”
“Absolutely!” Marlyn proudly raised an eyebrow, gently lifting Ziana’s chin.
Suddenly, Marlyn let out a long sound and glanced at Ziana’s neck.
Feeling uneasy under her gaze, Ziana asked, “What are you looking at?”
“A huge h*ckey!” Marlyn smiled playfully. “Who were you with last night?”
