Chapter 429 Ending the Farce

Early the next morning, Nell went to the police station.

After coming out from there, he drove to the office building of Lewis Company.

Sean was controlling the company, and he had been the first one to get fired.

As he gazed up at the towering building, his lips curled into a cold sneer.

Whether it was Sean or Erkan, whether it was five years ago or now, the defeated opponents would

always remain defeated.

At that moment, Sean was sitting in a state of desperation in the CEO’s office on the top floor.

He had been in constant irritation these days.

He had thought that those senior executives were easy to handle since they had treated him with

respect.

But it turned out that each of these people was a smartass capable of playing dirty tricks.

They obeyed him on the surface but tripped him up behind the scenes.

Their excuses were so sound that he couldn’t find fault with them, leaving himself to sulk.

He was angry because he had planned to start a new game project. Boris hadn’t paid much attention.

to it.

He wanted to be different from Boris, to break new ground in different industries and ability.

At first, the top management agreed, which made him very happy. No sooner had the project been

developed for three days than they raised a lot of problems.

As he sat there thinking, there was a knock on the door.

Sean slumped in his chair and said helplessly, “Come in.”

The visitors were none other than those old foxes.

He motioned for everyone to sit down and then asked, “What’s up?”

One of the leaders spoke up. “Mr. Lewis, we’ve been thinking about that game project you mentioned.

The questions we raised earlier really aren’t a problem.”

Sean raised his eyebrows, wondering what kind of game these old foxes were playing.

He nodded. “Then what brings you guys here?”

“But we are still worried,” the leader said with a hint of compassion. “However, if you can guarantee a

turnover of two million dollars within a month after the game’s launch, we will vote to approve the

project.”

Sean forced a smile, grinding his teeth.

He knew they were up to no good!

These swine were trying to trap him.

No wonder they had been criticizing him for the past few days. This turned out to be their real goal.

They wanted him to pledge.

If he did that, he would be completely at their mercy. They could deliberately cause trouble and ensure

that he couldn’t complete the task.

Then he would be a fish on the chopping block.

If they demanded payment, he would have to pay; if they told him to leave, he would have to go!

He couldn’t do that.

Playing dumb, he said, “Who makes pledges these days?”

“If you don’t issue it, we have no confidence in this project and cannot agree to it.”

Sean’s voice turned cold as the cards were put on the table.

He stared at the crowd with his gloomy eyes. “Are you trying to force me?”

The atmosphere grew tense.

Suddenly…

There was a knock on the door, breaking the eerie silence.

Sean was relieved at the interruption and quickly responded, “Come in!”

In walked his secretary with a bewildered expression, followed by a group of uniformed police officers.

“Mr. Lewis, these police officers want to see you.”

“Oh,” Sean replied calmly because he didn’t believe they had any evidence against him.

“Gentlemen, if you have any questions, you can ask me here.”

Turning to the old foxes, he said apologetically, “I’m sorry, but you’ll have to leave now. Let’s talk about

it another time.”

“I’m afraid you don’t have that chance, Mr. Lewis,” said the leading police officer with a smile as he took

out a pair of handcuffs. “Sean, or perhaps I should call you Erkan, you are involved in a crime and are

now being arrested as a criminal suspect. Please come with us.”

The smile on Sean’s face gradually faded.

He spread his hands and shrugged in surprise. “I don’t understand. Is there a misunderstanding?”

The police officer didn’t bother to explain in detail. He just said, “Take him away! You’ll find out soon

enough.”

Sean tried to say something, but his hands were already cuffed.

Two police officers led him out, one on either side.

His face was dark and stormy.

The group left the building.

It was during working hours, and almost all the employees saw what happened. They whispered

among themselves, and soon the news spread all over the internet.

Nell received the news immediately and excitedly called Ziana to tell her the good news.

After hearing him out, Ziana gracefully curled her lips. “I see. Make an appointment for me. I’m going to

meet Erkan.”

“Will do!” Nell agreed enthusiastically.

In the interrogation room of the police station.

Sean sat at a gray table with his hands cuffed and his feet fixed to the seat.

In front of him was a curtain.

A video was playing on it.

His expression changed from calm to panic, then to anger, and finally to numbness.

Half an hour later.

The video had finished playing.

“The video evidence is convincing,” said the police officer. “We’ve sent someone to contact the witness.

You won’t be able to get away this time.”

Sean didn’t respond for a long time. Then he began to giggle,

He lowered his head and laughed eerily. “Boris!”

It had never occurred to him that Boris had known his identity all along and had used Vivi to take

pictures of everything!

He had fallen into a trap.

Boris was so insidious!

“Boris!” He snarled through gritted teeth, “Boris! I’m superior to you! You despicable scoundrel who only

knows deceit and manipulation!”

“Enough of your shouting!” The irritated officer barked at him, motioning for someone to lock him up

and take him into custody, “Get him out of here!”

Three days later.

Ziana arrived at the police station to return the diamond necklace she had borrowed and to pay at visit

to Sean.

The two found themselves in a stark visiting room, furnished with a single table.

Seated elegantly in the chair, Ziana exuded a radiant charm. A hint of a disdainful smile played at the

corners of her lips, and her eyes remained cool and detached.

She cast a cursory glance at Sean. “Erkan, you’ve lost.”

Sean glared at her, his eyes blazing. “Bitch!”

“You’re nothing more than a pitiful clown.” Ziana laughed, but her words carried an undertone of

menace, I came to let you know that Boris will recover soon. You’ve lost, miserably. You lost five years

ago, and you’ll lose again. In this lifetime, you’ll never measure up to Boris, be it through exploiting

others or resorting to devious methods. A loser is always a loser.”

Her message delivered, she didn’t linger. Rising gracefully, she strode out of the room.

Sean leaped to his feet, his anguished howl echoing through the room.

“Sit down!” The officer warned sternly.

Sean’s gaze followed Ziana’s retreating figure, his teeth grinding with fury. “Ziana, Boris! Do you think

you’ve won? Do you think this is the end? Ha! I’ll tell you now, it’s far from over! It’s not over! I won’t go

down like this! I won’t!

“Sit down!” The officer’s voice thundered, and his warning escalated.

Sean whipped his head around, his eyes crimson and voice hoarse, “I demand a lawyer! I want to

make a phone call!”

The police obliged, escorting him to the phone room.

After a moment’s contemplation, he dialed Mr. Collins’ number.

The moment the line connected, he implored, “Mr. Hailey, help me! I’ve been arrested!”
