The address Vivi sent was a renowned coffee shop downtown, just two blocks away from the hospital.
Half an hour later, Ziana parked her car and stood at the gate.
People were getting off work, and the streets were crowded. The night of this city had just begun.
She touched her pocket before she made her way in.
The familiar shape made her instantly feel safe.
She looked around, then entered the coffee shop.
“Greetings and welcome.”
The greeting dolls at the door gave a welcoming voice.
“Greetings, ma’am. What can I get you?”
The waiter asked kindly as she passed by the ordering table.
Ziana pulled down her hat, waved at him, and headed up to the third floor.
The third floor was decorated with a classic Middle Age style. The sound of the cello flowed like soft
water.
Ziana came up and saw two gorgeously dressed girls with their backs facing her, learning to bake
cookies with the baker.
The third floor of this coffee shop included a DIY shack, where the baker would come and mentor
sometimes.
As she passed them, she could hear the girls’ giggling, and a smile curled up her lips.
But her smile vanished instantly as she glanced at the woman sitting in the corner.
She walked over with a cold face, pulled away the chair, and sat down to look coldly at the woman
before her.
“Vivi Colin,” she said.
Vivi gritted her teeth and yelled as she heard her name called. “Ziana, you shameless bitch!”
She was all covered up today, wearing a wide hat, with half her face masked and half behind
sunglasses.
Although her face was covered up, it must have been hideous to look at.
But Ziana merely shrugged. “I’m not here to argue with you. You said you’re here to talk about Boris.
Go on.”
“Hah!” Vivi scoffed, placing a large box on the table.
Ziana stayed on her guard as she opened it. She quietly put her hand in her pocket and touched her
small stun gun.
She stared at the box, which opened slowly, revealing various gifts.
Vivi took up the gift and introduced each of them to her as if she was showing off.
“This is the golden jade he gave me on Valentine’s Day, the first year we were together.”
“This, he gave me on my first birthday.”
“This is my…”
Ziana interrupted her. “You called me here just for this?”
“I…”
Suddenly, at that moment, a girl ran towards them and tripped over at the desk. She fell flat on the
floor.
Ziana recognized that this was one of the baking girls.
The girl was only 3 feet tall. She fell with her face down, not moving, not even crying. Nothing at all.
Ziana reckoned she was about seven or eight. She began to worry if there was something wrong with
her.
She hurried to the girl and flipped her over.
The girl’s face darkened, and her eyes shut tight. Things were looking bad.
Ziana was about to give her first aid. She was laying the girl down flat when her eyes suddenly flung
open.
Ziana was shocked and realized that this was no kid at all. This was a dwarf-like, full-grown woman!
The woman was holding something in her hand, and at that moment, she sprayed it at Ziana’s eyes.
Ziana was quick to react and tried to evade, but the two of them were too close.
The unidentified liquid flew into her eyes.
In that instant.
The searing heat made her tears flow, and her eyes went dark.
“Vivi Colin!”
Ziana took a few unbalanced steps backward. She was furious. She didn’t expect Vivi would do
something like this in open public.
This was the most popular commercial district in Japera City and the most renowned coffee shop,
where people come and go all the time. She’s nuts!
Ziana dared not touch her eyes. She knew full well at this moment that she needed to leave at once.
But she also knew that Vivi would never let her escape so easily if she dared to pull something like this.
As she expected.
Right then.
Vivi’s cackle came in front of her from the left.
“Ziana! I got you at last!”
She walked close to her and grabbed her hair. She wanted to cheer at her agony.
“I’ll get you back for every last bit of insult you’ve given me!” She gritted her teeth and gave her a slap.
Now!
Ziana held on to her pain and took an air gun from her pocket. She pulled the trigger, and a lead bullet
shot out.
The bullet hit Vivi’s face point blank. Blood splattered everywhere.
Ziana felt the warm splatter on her face. She sneered and bolted.
It didn’t matter she couldn’t see. She remembered her way in!
Vivi screamed out loud. She touched the blood on her face, and yelled in madness. “Why are you still
standing there, you morons! Get her! Bring her to me! I’ll kill her! I’ll have her hides today!”
Everyone on the third floor moved.
They blocked Ziana’s path of escape, and a few of them tried to intercept her.
“Get her! Get her now!”
Vivi Colin went utterly insane!
Several people looked at each other and surrounded Ziana. Then, all at once, they threw themselves at
her.
Some of them tried to grab Ziana’s arms, others her legs.
They weren’t expecting her so quick to react despite being blinded. She ducked and squeezed out of
the crowd.
Ziana continued to charge forward.
She knew she was five steps from the stairs.
But then…
BANG!
Someone kicked her in the abdomen, and she was immediately out of breath and fell onto the floor,
coughing.
Several men hurried forward and tied her up.
Vivi got up from the floor. She pushed away the people around and slapped Ziana with both her hands.
“You’re dead!” Vivi yelled at her maliciously. “You’re dead meat! I’m gonna choke you!”
She said and tried to grab Ziana’s neck. But then, someone shoved her aside.
“Take your insanity somewhere else!” Sean gave Vivi a warning look.
Vivi pouted and accused. “But my face…”
“Your face was already messed up,” Sean ignored her and turned to Ziana. “Sorry about all this, Miss
Scott. I’m here to clear your doubts. Since you’re so eager to find out who comes first with Boris, you or
Vivi, I got an idea that could find out.”
“Sean Yates!” Ziana recognized his voice.
“In the flesh!” Sean smiled coolly; his voice sounded like a snake slithering through the skin. “Let’s put
on a show and see who Boris would pick, alright?”
He then took away Ziana’s phone, then had his men take away all electronic devices she carried.
“Get her out of here!” He said in the end.
