assistant. As there’s this art exhibition today, I was hoping to get him to go with me. Therefore, can you
please ask him on my behalf?” Charlotte pleaded.
Genevieve couldn’t help but admit the power of Bruce’s charm, given how easily he managed to
mesmerize Charlotte. “It’s not my habit to get involved in my actor’s affairs. Besides, I don’t have his
contact number.”
“But you’re the boss,” Charlotte replied gleefully. “Regardless of how busy he is, he still has to obey
you. Genevieve, please.”
Faced with Charlotte’s pleas and the fact that she didn’t want to offend the former for fear of affecung
Specter Corporation’s business, Genevieve had no choice but to agree.
As she had Bruce’s contact on WhatsApp, she dropped him a message, inviting him to meet at the

Seeing her point, Jane let out a chuckle before leaving.
While Genevieve was driving home, she suddenly thought of the dessert shop from the other day.
Thus, she slowed down and managed to find it in no time.
“Ms. Rachford, it’s really you!”

Genevieve at once. “Our boss happened to be in today and has prepared two kinds of desserts. Would
you like to try them?”

Soon, the waitress served the desserts.
One was a slice of crepe cake, while the other was a chocolate cream puff. Both items looked
sensational from the outside.
Unable to resist, Genevieve took a photo of them before digging into the cake with her fork.
The cake instantly melted in her mouth. The combination of its soft layers and fluffy cream felt like a
match made in heaven. As for the cream puff, it was filled with creamy goodness that tasted sweet
without being too overbearing.
Already impressed with the owner’s double-layered chocolate cake previously. Genevieve didn’t expect
it to be outdone by the two desserts she had just tried.
She called out to the waitress again. “Can I meet your boss?”
“I’m sorry, but he left half an hour ago.” After giving her an apologetic reply, the waitress asked, “Miss,
did you enjoy these two desserts?’
Genevieve nodded. “Yes, they’re divine.”
Due to how delicious the desserts were, Genevieve wanted to get to know the owner so that she could
bring Amanda there when the latter returned to Jadeborough.
Genevieve asked again, “In that case, can I have his number?”
“I’m sorry. We’re not allowed to share our boss’ contact with the public,” the waitress answered.
“Miss, since you like the desserts made by our boss that much, you can give us a call before you come
over. We’ll then let you know if he’s around.”
Genevieve’s initial disappointment faded away as her eyes lit up upon hearing the waitress’ words.

After taking down the shop’s contact number, she finished the cream puff before leaving in a cheery
