“We’ve arrived. We are now looking for a place to park. Don’t worry about us. Get ready for your
concert later.”
“Hayden, there’s an empty place!” Benjamin stopped Hayden.
“Where?”
Hayden quickly drove in the direction where Benjamin pointed, “Freddie, I’ll talk to you later. I’ll call your
assistant after parking the car.”
“Alright,” Freddie replied.
After parking the car into the car park space, Benjamin held Stella’s hand and followed Hayden. They
headed backstage and saw Freddie’s assistant waiting for them at the entrance.
Freddie’s assistant took a breath of relief after seeing Hayden. He quickly led Hayden to the dressing
room while explaining, “Finally, you’re here, Hayden. Freddie has rushed me to wait for you here since
afternoon. He’s worried that you couldn’t find your way here.”
Hayden felt resigned.
“That’s impossible. Freddie is over-worried. This is his first concert, and he shouldn’t be worrying about
anything else than his concert. I wouldn’t dare to come again if he continues to act like this.”
Two crews walked past Hayden quickly with props while Hayden talked. The standing microphone
almost hit her face. Luckily Benjamin reacted quickly and pulled Hayden away.
“What are you guys doing? Be careful! You can’t afford to damage either our props or our guest!”
“It’s fine.”
Hayden tried to mediate.
People were busy with preparations for the concert in the hallway. It’s best not to trigger any disputes.
However, Hayden was worried for Stella. When she was about to turn and asked Benjamin to take care
of Stella, she saw Benjamin has already carried Stella and protected her carefully in his arms.
Hayden stunned. Benjamin was still remembered as the person when Hayden first met him. When
Benjamin woke up in the hospital after the accident, he looked innocent, panicked, and confused.
Hayden was the only person he could rely on.
Hayden didn’t remember since when Benjamin had grown into an adult-like person, even when he
hadn’t gained his memory back.
Maybe he was like this before the accident. Hayden can’t help wondering what kind of environment
Benjamin was in that made him so mature.
“It’s too crowded here. I’ll bring Stella to a less crowded place?” Hayden woke up from her thoughts
when Benjamin asked her a question.
“Sure,” Hayden nodded, “You should bring Stella over first. I’ll follow you after I’ve spoken to Freddie.
It’s almost time.”
Freddie’s assistant agreed and looked at his phone, “Yes, it’s almost time. The concert is starting in
about ten minutes.”
Benjamin brought Stella to the auditorium and sat in front of the stage while Hayden entered the
dressing room with Freddie’s assistant.
“Where’s Freddie?” After looking around, all Hayden saw was Freddie’s stylists, makeup artists, and his
manager. Freddie wasn’t in the room.
“Freddie went to the washroom. He should be back soon,” Freddie’s manager answered. He smiled
warmly when he saw Hayden, “Hey, Hayden! Come, sit. Where’s Stella?”
“There are too many people backstage. I’m worried she would create trouble for the crew. I’ve sent her
to the auditorium.”
The crew who in-charged with Freddie’s itinerary were familiar with Hayden. Freddie’s manager and
assistant were with him when he filmed a traveling program. The crew likes Stella a lot.
Although Joseph said he didn’t like Freddie, he provided a top-notch team for Freddie, and he assigned
a considerable sum of money in publicity for Freddie. It was only a few months after Freddie’s debut
from a TV program. The tickets for his solo concert had already sold out.
Hayden was impressed by Freddie’s achievement by far. She almost forgot what happened this
afternoon.
“I’m sorry, Miss. You can’t go in…”
“What are you talking about? Don’t you know who I am?”
A dispute happened and caught the attention of the people in the dressing room.
The door opened, and a huge bouquet in pink came into the room. The person who was holding it hid
behind it. She said in a coquettish tone, “Surprise! Congrats on your first-time concert, Freddie!”
“Who is this woman?” Freddie’s manager frowned, “Is she a fan? Who let her in?”
The security guard was nervous, “She came in when I wasn’t paying attention. She claimed that she is
Freddie’s sister. We can’t do much.”
“Sister?” Freddie’s manager got angry, “Freddie’s sister is sitting here. Who is this woman? Get rid of
her.”
“Hayden?” The woman showed her face when she heard what Freddie’s manager said. Her face
turned red when she saw Hayden, “Why are you here?”
Freddie’s manager was stunned. He asked in hesitation, “Do you know her, Hayden?”
Hayden slowly enjoying her cup of tea. She smiled when she heard Freddie’s manager’s question,
“Sort of.”
Hayden recognized Chelsea’s coquettish voice when she came in. She got goosebumps the moment
she heard Chelsea’s voice. Hayden didn’t voice out because she wanted to see how thick-skin Chelsea
was to come backstage without Freddie’s invitation.
“Sort of? How rude!” Chelsea put the bouquet on the couch and looked around. She glared at Hayden
after confirming Freddie wasn’t in the room, “Have you spend too much time outside? Don’t you
recognize your own family? You’re heartless. I dare you to say this to father when you ask him for the
house.”
The people in the dressing room immediately understood who Chelsea was after hearing their
conversation. People started to whisper.
“That's quite another matter,” Hayden replied calmly, “You stomped into the room so rudely. I don’t dare
to say that I know you, to avoid embarrassing Freddie.”
“You…”
Chelsea was blue in the face. She teased, “I came to support Freddie. I grew up with him. How could
that be embarrassing? But you? You ran off overseas without getting married and came back with a
daughter. A natural-born who didn’t know who her father is. Do you think it’s another Cinderella story
now that you’re with the Director of the ST Group? What are you proud of? You are just a stepmother
for others son.”
Hayden clenched her fists.
She hated people who talked bad about her child. Luckily Stella wasn’t here, or else she might tear
Chelsea into pieces.
“My personal experiences have nothing to do with me being here supporting my brother, right? Sister?”
It sounded like it meant differently when Hayden emphasize the term ‘sister’, “But sister, do you think
people don’t know how you feel about Freddie? Won’t your partner be jealous when he knows that you
came here to support Freddie like this?”
Chelsea’s face turned green.
“What nonsense are you talking about?”
How would she know what was going on at her house?
