Harrison gave her a look, “Well, in that case, I won’t detain you any further. Are you still coming over

tonight?”

“Sure.”

Hayden nodded, concealing her bitterness as she lowered her head.

“Stella, let’s go.”

As they left, Noah suddenly pulled the corner of Hayden’s coat and let out a crying voice, “Mommy…”

The situation at the dinner table became tense instantly.

Joseph didn’t react at all.

Noah had always been calling Hayden mommy, but not in front of everyone. He was his usual self,

trying to see how Hayden responded.

However, Harrison turned cold, “Noah, is it right to just call someone mommy?”

Noah was aggrieved immediately, tugging at Hayden’s clothes and refused to let go. Noah bawled his

eyes out, with his hands shaking, “Harrison is bad, I want mommy…”

At that moment, the atmosphere in the dining hall was all messed up. The maids looked at each other

with a complex look.

“Noah.” Hayden’s tone was austere, and she longed to take Noah away from here right now.

What for putting a five-year-old child through all these ups and downs?

“If possible, I can take Noah over to my place for two days.”

Hayden bit the bullet of asking this.

“No way.” Harrison kept a straight face, “Nonsense. How can Noah just go out with an outsider?”

Hearing this, Noah cried even louder.

“Joseph, why don’t you take Noah away and calm him down?”

Harrison got so mad about Joseph.

Joseph sat motionlessly in his seat with a blank expression when hearing it. He shrugged his shoulders

and said indifferently, “I can’t. Nobody can calm Noah when he’s crying.”

“You just want to spite me.”

Harrison was shaking with anger. Right then, he stood up and walked to Hayden. He tugged Noah’s

arm and pulled Noah away from Hayden, saying in a cold voice, “Ms. Downey, you can leave now.”

No matter how Hayden was reluctant about it, she had to grit her teeth and leave.

And it hurt Hayden so much, seeing Noah crying so hard before they left.

As they left the Beckham family old mansion, Hayden wore the seat belt and drove the car out of the

area.

Stella Downey’s choked voice sounded from the back seat.

“Mommy, Noah is crying so badly. Do we really have to leave him alone?”

Hayden was staring straight ahead, and her fingers clutched on the steering wheel tightly, “It isn’t

mommy that doesn’t care for him, just that I can’t for now. Wait until the lawyer that your daddy hired

comes back to the country, mommy will find a way to let Noah back to us.”

Stella snorted, and her eyes were red, “Mommy, why am I growing up with mommy, but Noah is with

Joseph? Was it because daddy and mommy sent Noah away when he was a child?”

Children wouldn’t overthink as their mindset were relatively fixed. They didn’t have much life

experience as well as understanding the mistakes of this world.

Stella always thought that Noah was like her, being the children of Edison Godfery and Hayden, just

that Noah left them when he was still a child for some reason.

Hayden didn’t know how to explain to her. After a long moment of silence, Hayden said sullenly, “It’s

because mommy was careless and lost Noah when giving birth to you guys.”

Stella was speechless.

After Hayden left, the dining hall of the Beckham’s house was in a total mess.

Joseph was obviously taking a hands-off approach and not even wanting to calm his son. The maids

were all flustered as Noah cried even louder as anyone approached him. And hence, nobody dared to

come closer to him.

“You guys are such a worthless shit.”

Harrison slammed the table in anger, and he was at a loss, bent down trying to calm Noah, “Noah,

don’t cry... Okay?”

Noah snorted and stopped crying abruptly. Just when everyone thought that Harrison had magically

persuaded the little one, Harrison got a slap right in the face. Noah was jumping up and down, “You’re

a bad guy!”

Everyone in the house was stalk-eyed.

Even Mark was shocked, looking at this scene in disbelief.

Harrison had involved in business all his life, and he had always been held in high esteem wherever he

went. But now that he was old, he was even humiliated by Noah slapping him.

Harrison’s face turned blue.

“Harrison, Noah is still a child.” Addison Sanchez stood up and spoke.

Joseph remained calm, placing the water cup that he had taken a sip of water on the table, watching

what was happening in front of him indifferently.

Harrison wrinkled his brows and took a deep breath. After a moment, he bent down again and tried

putting a smile on his face, “Yeah, I’m bad. If Noah thinks that hitting me can relieve your anger, you

can hit me again. I won’t angry and won’t cry too. But Noah, you must stop crying and finish your meal

too.”

Everyone was overwhelmed.

Mark’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.

It was true that Harrison’s love for Noah was bottomless. It was hard to tell before as they had not

much time spent together and not even encountered such an odd moment.

“I want mommy…” Noah cried as he slapped Harrison away. Noah moved backwards, with tears on his

face, looking pitiful.

Harrison sighed and finally understood what Joseph mentioned earlier about no one was able to calm

Noah down when he cried. It seemed that besides Hayden, nobody could calm him down.

The maids then took Noah away. Although they couldn’t calm him down, it was just to get him out of

everyone’s hair in the dining hall.

All of them lost their appetite.

The dining hall was back to silence, but the situation was even more awkward. Addison swept a glance

and got up sensibly, “Grandpa, Joseph, I’m full already. I have some things to deal with and I’ll leave

first.”

“You’ve had enough?” Harrison said politely, “There are still dishes not yet served in the kitchen.”

“No, I’m good. I’m on diet and eating less. Let’s talk about it next time.”

Addison smiled respectfully, “By the way, I’ve something to deal with tonight, and so, I won’t be coming

over.”

After saying that, Harrison nodded, and Addison then left the Beckham’s house.

After getting into the car, she opened her phone contacts, staring at the number for a long time. Finally,

she gathered her courage and dialled it, “Hello, it’s me, Addison.”

“Are you free? I saw that you didn’t eat much just now. How about having a lunch together? No offense.

I just have something to talk to you.”

The call was short. After hanging up the call, Addison picked up a kraft paper bag from the passenger

side and pulled out the paternity report inside it.

Stuff happened. Addison initially thought that Viola Kidman was lying to her, but she had to believe that

there was fate in life with the evidence given. It was difficult for others to interfere with a destined

pair.
