The Accident on the Mountain
The heavy rain continued for three days without any sign of stopping.
Charlotte specially called the people of the engineering department again to confirm that the measures
to prevent
mountain accidents had been checked by relevant departments and there would be no problems. Only
then did she feel
relieved.
Late at night.
The sharp ringtone woke Charlotte up.
“Miss Clinton, the back mountain of the Holiday Resort suddenly broke out a landslide, the construction
site was buried,
and five workers are missing.” The voice of Frank was very heavy, and unless it was an emergency, he
would not call
Charlotte in the midnight.
Charlotte’s heart suddenly darkened. “God. I’ll be right there.”
Fifteen minutes later, Charlotte, who had simply freshened up, got in the car to the construction site.
Just then, Trevor called. “The construction site…”
“I already know about the landslide of the mountain. Is there any news?” Charlotte asked in a deep
voice.
After a brief pause, Trevor continued, “We’ve already rescued three out of the five workers, and two of
them are still
missing.”
The conversation between the two suddenly fell silent.
The landslide of the mountain had always been very dangerous. They did not care how much money
the rescue cost.
They only hoped that the workers would be safe.
Enter title…
“Who are you?” Before Charlotte could speak, Trevor seemed to have quarreled with someone on the
phone and then
hung up the phone.
The first reaction of Charlotte was to turn on her mobile phone to search for information. Sure enough,
she saw the news
of the Holiday Resort disaster on the trending.
She immediately frowned. Although she had long known that the media would expose this matter,
wasn’t it too fast?
Not to mention that it was late at night now. How could it be exposed so soon?
Charlotte called Frank, “Now withdraw from the scene immediately and check the news of the media.”
Public opinion was brewing so fast. Someone must be manipulating it behind the scenes. She wanted
to know who it was.
Frank was on his way to the scene. After hearing her arrangement, he immediately turned the car
around and drove back
to the Horizon Group.
Charlotte pressed between her eyebrows tiredly. She thought for a moment and said to Mandy, “You
don’t have to protect
me when we arrive at the scene. Go to the landslide area to have a look first.”
Charlotte had confirmed that all the strengthening measures had been completed today. How could it
be possible for the
mountain to suddenly collapse?
At present, everyone’s eyes were focused on the workers who were trapped, so it was easier to
investigate these traces.
Mandy hesitated for a moment. “But you…?”
“I’m fine. I need you more at the scene of the accident,” Charlotte said lightly. She didn’t believe that
someone would be
stupid enough to hurt her at this time.
It was raining heavily in the middle of the night. Even Mandy did not dare to be too fast. It had been
almost three hours
since they arrived at the scene.
As soon as the car approached, she heard a noise in front of her. Charlotte frowned and opened the
window to look out.
In the heavy rain, many workers looked blankly at the house wrapped in mud. Everyone had been
drenched, but no one
went to change clothes.
On the other side, several family members were tightly surrounding Trevor. All of them looked very
excited, and some of
them were even about to poke Trevor.
However, Trevor, who had always been arrogant, did not fight back. Instead, he listened to their quarrel
in silence.
Charlotte frowned and was about to get out of the car when Trevor raised his head. They looked at
each other.
