Chapter 1346 You Had the Courage to Die

Tears fell uncontrollably from Kisa’s eyes as she looked at the bowl of spicy ramen in front of her. She

remembered that Lea also suffered from morning sickness not long ago and could not eat anything

except ramen.

‘It hasn’t been that long, but she and her child are now… Kisa could not help but feel overwhelmed

once more when she thought about it.

Gilbert’s heart tightened when he saw her suddenly crying. “What’s wrong? Is your tummy okay? I’ll try

to find more food if you can’t eat this.” The man was about to take the bowl of ramen away when Kisa

grabbed his hands to stop him. “I’m fine. It’s just some pregnancy mood swings,” she said with a smile.

“I’ve heard people say that pregnant people are very emotionally fragile. It’s okay. You’ll be fine after

you have the baby,” Felicity said with partial understanding, to which Kisa nodded with a smile.

Kisa was overwhelmed with emotions when she saw the array of food and how concerned Gilbert and

Felicity were. When she was pregnant for the first time, she felt sad and helpless; now, she was happy

and cared for.

The ramen was good; not only did Kisa not feel nauseous after eating it, but her appetite also

increased. She then ate the fries and the chips.

Felicity looked at her and joked, “I heard that pregnant women carrying boys tend to crave spicy food

more than those carrying girls. I guess you’re not having a girl.”

As she said that, she looked over to Gilbert and asked, “Do you want a boy or a girl?”

“A girl,” Gilbert replied without even thinking about it.

Felicity wanted to laugh when she heard that.

He would probably change his answer if I told him there’s a high chance that Kisa is having a boy,

haha.’ Kisa stayed at Felicity’s place for another three days. Her complexion had gradually improved.

However, on the fourth day, she wanted to return to the Mullen residence to clear up some things. She

did not like Athadale much, so she wanted to get answers as soon as possible and return to Calthon.

Before going to the Mullen residence, Kisa visited the cemetery to see Lea. It was a sunny day; the sun

was shining, and the cemetery was no longer as cold and gloomy as the rainy day before.

Kisa asked Gilbert to wait for her at the foot of the hill at the entrance of the cemetery because she

wanted to have a few private words with Lea.

There were very few people in the cemetery. Kisa walked for about 20 minutes till she arrived at Lea’s

grave. In the memorial photo on her headstone, Lea was smiling. ‘She was still so young. There was

still a long way to go for her. Why did she decide to kill herself?’

Kisa squatted in front of the tombstone and put down the flowers she had brought. She looked at Lea’s

picture and smiled sadly. “What was going on in your head, silly girl? Did you think that you would

finally be free? Only the ones who care about you are hurting.” Kisa stretched out her hand and

touched the photo on the tombstone. She felt so engulfed with grief that she could not breathe.

“What were you thinking? You could have told me. I said I didn’t blame you and we would always be

friends. Why did you still do it? If you had the courage to die, why didn’t you have the courage to

continue living on?” Kisa whispered to the tombstone, her mournful tone drifting in the cool air.

Then, the faint sound of slow and heavy footsteps began to appear. A shadow cast over the tombstone,

falling on Lea’s photo as if casting darkness over her smile.

Kisa was stunned for a while. She then looked back and saw who it was.
