Can’t Stand Up Again?
Kisa’s eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at him.
Gilbert glared at her shocked expression and sneered, “What, don’t you understand?”
“I-I do!” Kisa nodded vigorously. “I’ll be good, I promise. Really good.”
Gilbert rolled his eyes in annoyance and turned away, ignoring her.
By the time they arrived back at the Kooper residence, it was already afternoon. Kisa sat nervously in
the helicopter, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. Now that she knew Andrew and Ada were her
own children, her feelings toward them were different. Plus, it was the weekend, and the children were
not at school. The thought of finally seeing her own children filled her with excitement, but also made
her more nervous than ever.
Gilbert had already made his way to the cabin door and was annoyed to see Kisa still frozen in her
seat. “Can’t stand up again?” he sneered.
Shaking her head, Kisa stared up at him with a silly grin. She was beyond thrilled that Andrew and Ada
were really her children; she felt like she was dreaming.
Gilbert huffed in frustration and headed straight for the door. ‘I told her to be good, not act like a fool!’
he said in his mind.
Kisa took a deep breath to calm herself down before following Gilbert off the helicopter. As soon as she
stepped off, three little children ran up to her.
“Ma’am, Daddy!”
“Daddy!”
“Ma’am!”
Ada pounced into Kisa’s arms, brimming with excitement and vigor that nearly knocked her down. She
held on to her cane as Gilbert quickly scooped up Ada to prevent her from falling. Meanwhile, Kisa
clung tightly to Ada’s little hand and gave Andrew a look of utter adoration.
Gilbert glanced over at Kisa’s casted leg and sternly warned the three little ones, “Watch out, Ma’am’s
got a boo-boo on her leg.” Kisa’s lips curled into a smile as she looked at Gilbert coyly. He felt
uncomfortable and averted his eyes.
“Don’t get any ideas, I’m just worried about our unborn baby.”
Kisa chuckled and did not argue with him. She just gazed lovingly at Andrew and Ada with tender,
caring eyes. The more she looked at them, the more she adored them. However, she could not reveal
her identity to the children yet, for fear of jeopardizing her plan to make Adrien believe that she hated
Gilbert and wanted revenge on him. Nevertheless, she was grateful that her children were still alive.
Suddenly, a small hand pressed against her stomach. Kisa lowered her eyes and saw Blake’s clear,
bright eyes.
“Ma’am, is the little brother or sister inside good?”
Looking at Blake, Kisa’s heart inexplicably softened. She rubbed Blake’s head and said, “Very
good. When he is born, he will be as well-behaved as you guys.
Blake smiled and put his ear against her belly. “Ma’am, I can’t wait for him to come out.”
“Mm-hmm, when he does, you’ll have to play with him and teach him how to call you big brother.”
Blake nodded vigorously “I will.”
Suddenly, Madalyn walked over with a stern expression on her face. She looked at Kisa’s injured leg
and snorted coldly, “You’re pregnant now, and yet you’re not being careful enough. Let me tell you, it
doesn’t matter what happens to you, but you’d better not harm the Kooper family’s offspring Madalyn
was as intimidating as ever Kisa remained silent while Gilbert spoke up Grandma, I’m starving. Are we
ready to eat?”
