The longer she stayed, the more likely she was to be exposed.
And if Nocturne showed up now, she’d be done for
“Mr. Whitfield, I deeply regret the inconvenience I’ve caused, but since I promised never to show up in
front of you again, I’ve had to make this choice. I’ll leave immediately”
Agnes avoided Jared, pretending to look for her ID in the drawer.
She was extremely nervous, she felt Jared’s gaze on her back the whole time.

Agnes took out her ID from the card holder, then she stood up.
When she turned around, Jared was already standing behind her.
Jared looked very displeased.
Agnes was about to leave, but Jared blocked her way again, “You’re in such a hurry for your ID, are
you planning to get married?”
Agnes was taken aback.
