“I’m not hiding; I just came back to check.” Brittany rubbed her temples, “Since your people are here; I’ll
leave him to you. Don’t wake my son up, and take Isaac away once he’s better.”
Wesley was surprised at her indifference to Isaac. He couldn’t help but ask, “Aren’t you worried?”
“Worried about what?” Brittany scoffed, “It’s late. Get some sleep.”
She went straight to her room.
Wesley watched her leave, lit another cigarette, leaned against the wall, and smoked away.
Perhaps it was exhaustion, but Brittany fell asleep almost immediately.
When she woke up, Daniel was still sitting by Isaac, The antipyretic shot from the previous night didn’t
work.
In fact, it was getting worse.
Wesley wanted to take Isaac back to Imperial City, but due to the heavy downpour the night before, the
