She Came in Through the Backdoor
Brisa was too angry to listen to anything.
“Why shouldn’t I say it? Tsk, cunning Mr. Inken, everyone in Hartterre knows that you’re a fraud. Look
at you now: do you still look like a sickly person? You’ve fooled the whole city, you sly and cunning
person! You can’t even compare to Landon; he’s at least honest and straightforward.”
Although it was a lewd kind of honesty, Brisa added in her mind.
The next moment, Inken raised an eyebrow and took out his phone from under the table.
“Ruffian, did you hear that? Tisch has always had a crush on you. In her eyes, you are mighty and
noble.” Inken spoke with a hint of satisfaction and excitement in his tone, followed by a low chuckle,
clearly showing his narrow-mindedness.
Hearing that, Brisa was taken aback and stood frozen like a rock.
“I knew things weren’t that simple. I always felt like he was trying to trick you, but I couldn’t figure out
what was wrong.” Freya sighed.
Now she understood.
With the speakerphone on, Landon’s voice came through the phone. There was a hint of self-
satisfaction and excitement in his tone.
“I knew that no woman could resist my charm. It’s normal for Tisch to have a crush on me. We’ve been
friends for so many years, so I can give her a chance.”
“Well, then I’ll thank her on her behalf,” Inken said with a smile.
Brisa was furious. “Give me a chance? Landon, I dare you to say that again!”
As soon as Brisa spoke, there was silence on the other end of the phone for a few seconds.
“Forget it, I was too harsh. I won’t give her a chance. I still prefer someone gentle.”
Following that, Brisa charged toward Inken.
Inken quickly hung up the call while innocently blinking his cunning eyes at Brisa.
“You said it yourself, so don’t blame me, okay?”
“Lecherous! Sly!”

Inken raised his wine glass with a smile. “Thanks for the compliment.”
The three of them finished their dinner, and Brisa was still catching her breath.
After that, Freya drove the car, taking Brisa back to the contest area.
“That Landon! I’ll definitely teach him a lesson if I have a chance!”
Brisa was flushed with anger. “And he said he would give me a chance? And he likes someone gentle?
Does he even deserve it?”
Freya nodded while driving. “He doesn’t.”
The two of them returned to the Pink Beach, and Brisa’s anger subsided. As they entered the villa, they
saw a woman standing in the living room pouring herself a drink. When she saw them, she politely
smiled.
“Are you both contestants too? I’m Lya.”
The woman walked toward Freya and extended her hand.
She appeared polite, but Freya could see the contempt in her eyes.
Freya’s heart skipped a beat. Lya, isn’t she the same person Inken mentioned earlier?
Brisa also looked at Helga curiously. “So, you’re the previous champion, Helga?”
Hearing that, Helga looked a bit embarrassed, she brushed her hair behind her ear and spoke
cheerfully, “Let’s not dwell on past glories. I’m just like you now, a contestant.”
Although she said that, the smile on Helga’s face couldn’t hide her arrogance. Her chin was held a little
higher.
“Are you a contestant too?” Helga looked at Brisa.
“No.” Brisa shook her head and answered.
She then pointed at Freya. “I’m the assistant to this year’s champion.”
“This year’s champion?” Helga looked at Freya curiously, and after a few seconds, she smiled.
“I know you. You’re DiligentFrey, the popular makeup influencer on Twitter, and also the heiress of the
Kaufmann Group, right?”
“Yes,” Freya answered with a smile.
“I really enjoy watching your live broadcasts. You have great talent in makeup, but I never

heard that you can also create perfumes,” Helga said with a smile, her gaze subtly scanning Freya’s
attire.
Helga assumed that Freya was there to gain popularity. It was already clear on Twitter, but after all, she
was the heiress of the Kaufmann Group, so it wouldn’t hurt to befriend her.
Helga’s attitude instantly became warmer. If the heiress of the Kaufmann Group became friends with
me and is willing to invest in my perfume brand, wouldn’t that be even better?
Freya remembered what Inken had said about Helga’s cunning nature. She didn’t want to get involved
with such a person, so she just politely greeted her.
Then, she turned to Brisa. “You mentioned feeling tired on the way back. Let’s go rest.”
After Freya finished speaking, he nodded at Helga. “Miss Zander, we just returned from an outing and
are a bit tired, so we’ll head back to rest.”
Helga’s gaze flickered slightly. “Sure, then go rest for now. We’ll meet again tomorrow.”
Freya led Brisa back to the bedroom on the third floor and Brisa sat down in Freya’s bedroom.
“I don’t think Helga is as arrogant as Inken described. What do
“Do you like her?” Freya raised her eyebrow.
you think?”
“I’m not that shallow. It’s not like I’ll like someone just because of a brief encounter. Despite Inken being
sleazy and annoying, he’s usually accurate when assessing people and investigating them.”
“I’m just worried since she’s putting on such a good act. I was a bit concerned about you. It seems like
she’s quite interested in you.” Brisa pouted.
“Why worry about that? It’s just a contest. We’re each doing our own thing.” Freya remarked. casually.
Freya nodded and looked at the several rooms on the first floor. “I saw many rooms on the first floor
with shoes placed outside. I guess many contestants have arrived during our dinner.”
Freya nodded and recalled the crew’s explanation that rooms would be assigned tomorrow.
There were over a hundred contestants this time, and this was the result of the initial selection by the
production team.
Freya didn’t participate in the initial selection since she used the Monaghans’ connection, where each
sponsor could directly recommend a perfumer from their own company to

enter the finals.
In a way, she came in through the backdoor.
Shortly after, Brisa stood up. “Alright, since tomorrow is your important first battle, let’s not chat today.
I’ll go back to my room and rest.”
“Okay.” Freya nodded.
After Brisa left, Freya opened her suitcase and took out a few clothes and two pairs of shoes. After
organizing everything, she reached for the notebook at the bottom of the suitcase.
It looked like an ordinary notebook, but it actually contained “The Compendium of Medical Wisdom.”
She placed the notebook on the TV cabinet. Freya had already noticed several cameras in the room.
Although they were not yet activated, she knew that they would be turned on once the official contest
started tomorrow.
