There Must Be Something Fishy About the Competition
Victory is as good as mine!
Helga raised her chin confidently and took a step forward.
The staff had just opened the file pages. “First place-”
Helga took another step, already far away from the crowd. She could already imagine how the internet
would praise her for her talent and confidence.
“Let us congratulate Miss Freya Kaufmann.” The staff led the applause.
Helga stood four steps away from the crowd, listening to the scattered applause and whispered
mockery behind her.
“Oh my god, why did Helga step forward? Does she think she has already won? It’s so funny.”
“She has embarrassed herself this time. This is a live broadcast on the internet!”
The whispers of laughter continued, and Helga felt a chill run through her body. She turned her head
abruptly and looked at Freya.
Freya’s expression remained calm, no different from before.
How is this possible? How could someone like Freya, an outsider, get first place?! There must be
something fishy! Helga clenched her fists. Freya is the daughter of the Kaufmann family. She must
have seen the theme in advance, or…
Helga’s gaze fell on Brisa, who was standing next to Freya.
Or maybe it was this assistant by her side who made the perfume for her, like taking an exam for
someone else!
Freya walked out of the crowd and politely asked the staff, “Can I choose a villa now?”
The staff smiled. “Of course.”
Freya didn’t think too much about it and chose the two villas she and Brisa had lived in before.
The luggage was already packed, and it would be troublesome to move again.
As the rankings were almost finished, when the staff called out number fifty-two, a seemingly timid girl
stood up with a hint of fear in her eyes.

“Now that everyone knows their rankings and each other’s abilities, I hope you can make progress and
learn from each other during the next half month. The staff’s words sounded formal but also
reasonable.
Only a few people paid attention to what the staff said. Everyone was still frightened by the elimination
of half of the contestants. Few had the confidence to make it until the end.
“I never thought Freya would get first place, and Helga only got second.”
“I still can’t believe Freya got first place. Say, why didn’t the production team reveal the perfume Freya
made? I heard that when she went to the ingredients warehouse today, she only took a piece of wood
and some dried flowers. How could she make perfume with those things?”
“Maybe Freya’s family is powerful and got the theme in advance. Is that possible?”
Everyone was puzzled, and their gaze toward Freya became even more strange.
Among the fifty-two remaining contestants, almost half of them had opinions about Freya, either
disliking her or not.
The perfumers who disliked Freya believed that she was just playing around and using other people’s
futures to make herself shine.
Those who didn’t dislike her even felt grateful that Freya had made this competition stand out, but they
didn’t dare to speak up too much. They thought it was better to mind their own business, and
expressing too much favor toward Freya would only invite ridicule from others.
Freya didn’t plan to stay on the beach for long. She took Brisa back to the villa they had stayed in
before.
Just as they took a few steps, they were stopped.
Helga stood in front of Freya, a look of surprise and doubt on her face, trying to force at smile.
“Miss Kaufmann, what kind of perfume did you make today? Do you mind letting me take: whiff?”
Freya shook her head. “I didn’t make perfume.”
Helga frowned. “You didn’t make perfume in a perfume competition? Then, what did you
make?”
Freya took a deep breath. “Herbal sachets. It’s a tradition in our country.”
Herbal sachets?
Helga thought for a moment and asked, “Is it the kind of seasoning used for braised pork?”
Freya was taken aback for a moment, looking at Helga with incredulity. “Miss Zander, do you know
nothing about the traditional cultures in our country’s history? I’m talking about the kind of herbal
sachets that can be lit!”
Helga felt a little embarrassed and coughed lightly. “Of course I do. I just didn’t think of it for a moment.
But since you made herbal sachets, how could it be better than perfume?”
Freya paused. “Why do you think perfume can be better than herbal sachets? Herbal sachets are
made from pure natural ingredients, much stronger than the essential oils used in your chemical
formulas!”
Helga pursed her lips and saw that Freya was about to leave. She hurriedly took a step forward and
reached out to grab Freya’s wrist.
Brisa, who was standing beside them, quickly grabbed Helga’s hand and gently pulled her toward
herself.
Although Brisa looked sweet, she had been in the Green Flamation forum for many years. and had
taken on many tasks. She had shed countless blood.
Her
eyes were icy cold, strongly contrasting with her innocent face.
“What are you trying to do?”
Helga widened her eyes, feeling that the hand holding her wrist was like steel, making it impossible for
her to break free.
“Freya, don’t you care that your assistant is attacking me in public?!”
“Attacking you in public?” Freya found it amusing.
“Freya, tell her to let me go. I’ll have you know there are live cameras here!”
“My assistant didn’t attack you in public. She only did it out of self-defense. So what if others are
watching? Weren’t you the one who caused trouble first?” Freya raised an eyebrow.
Helga gritted her teeth. “Fine, I won’t do anything now. Tell her to let me go!”
Freya nodded and looked at Helga calmly. “Miss Zander, can I trust your words this time?”
“I never break my word.” Helga clenched her teeth.
“Brisa, let her go,” Freya persuaded from the side.

Brisa narrowed her eyes coldly. “No, I’ve never liked her. She’s always up to something!”
Freya sighed helplessly. “Let her go, and I’ll buy you another self-heating hot pot.”
Upon hearing their conversation, Helga couldn’t believe her ears.
What self-heating hot pot? Am I only worth a self-heating hot pot?! These two people must be
humiliating me!
After thinking for a while, Brisa finally let go of Helga’s hand.
Helga cried out in pain and found a red mark on her wrist. She cursed Freya in her heart. Did she bring
along an assistant or a bodyguard? What a mad woman! How could a woman have such grip strength?
She had only intended to hold Freya back and prevent her from leaving, but Freya actually let her
assistant take action. She must be feeling guilty. Something fishy must be going on in the perfume
competition!
Helga watched as the two figures walked away, filled with hatred and gritting her teeth.
But the camera drone was still hovering in the air, pointing in her and Freya’s direction.
Having no choice, she suppressed her hatred and put on a look of grievance, covering her wrist as she
left.
Never mind. There’s still a long time left in the competition!
Today was only the first day, and she would have plenty of opportunities to expose Freya’s true colors
in front of the live audience!
