After watching Madeline hang up, Crystal protested, "How are you still accepting cases? Your
wedding's around the corner. Don't forget what's more important."
"It's fine," Madeline reassured. "I don't need to see to it personally. I just have to assign it to the guys."
She didn't hand it specifically to anyone but instead typed the brief out in Oasis Law Office's group
chat, and Martin replied almost instantly. 'I'll take the case, sis. I'll get to it right away.'
The others replied as well with their interest to help, but it depended on their time or mood.
At that, Madeline left the case aside after responding with an emoji.
Something like tracking people was practically effortless to her guys at Oasis. Thus, she didn't need to
trouble herself with it at all.
Two hours later, she got a call from Martin. "Madeline, I've located the pair that the client commissioned
us."
"Well, that's fast." Madeline blurted in surprise.
"Yeah." Martin then explained, "Those two aren't covering their traces at all. In fact, Peachlyn is
wandering around the streets openly. Anybody can find her if they just look. I've already sent their
location into the group chat."
"Alright, I got it. Where are you right now?" Madeline asked.
"I'm on my way to the amusement park. Janvier wants to take me there for some fun," he replied. "Has
something else come up?"
"No, go ahead and have fun." At that, she asked, "How come you're only going now? Has the search
held you guys back?"
"No," Martin chuckled. "Janvier said that amusement parks are more fun at night, especially the
haunted house. It's creepier the later it gets."
However, Madeline disagreed slightly, keeping silent for a moment before saying, "Well, if it makes you
happy. Stay safe."
"Got it." At that, the young man added, "Hit me straight up if anything else comes up, alright? I can
leave the amusement park anytime."
"Sure," Madeline noted, then gave Sam a call after hanging up. "Sam, we've found them."
"Well, that's fast!" Sam was just as surprised as she was.
"Yeah, it's all thanks to Martin," Madeline answered. "He said they didn't even cover up their tracks.
Looks like they aren't worried about being found."
With that, she gave Sam the address and added, "Martin also said they rented a shabby apartment
here. I guess they aren't doing well financially. Since they rented a place and have not covered up their
tracks, that means they aren't worried about being found and wouldn't be leaving anytime soon. As
such, I didn't have my guys watch over them."
"Alright, I got it," Sam acknowledged. "Jericho's side is getting pretty agitated. They should go over
fairly soon after I tell them the address. Can you assign someone to be their local guide?"
"Sure," Madeline agreed. "I'll go personally if I have the time, or else, I'll have Martin receive them."
"You don't have to go personally," Sam reasoned. "What's most important to you now is getting ready
for your wedding. Don't distract yourself with these trivial things."
"Don't worry about it," Madeline reassured. "Everything's all set, and I've got nothing better to do at
home. I'll see when they come over."
It was only right that she welcomed Sam's friends herself when they were coming over to Wendel City.
That said, she could still receive them if they were to arrive the next day. However, if it was the day
after that, her hands would be tied.
After exchanging a few more words with Madeline, Sam ended the call without hesitation and
contacted Jericho.
It was a pressing issue for the Clarkes, or Jericho would've had his men find Peachlyn instead of
requesting Oasis' assistance.
Now, after learning that the young woman had been found, they rushed to Wendel City overnight.
It was in the wee hours when they arrived in Wendel city, so they didn't alert anyone around and
instead found a hotel to crash for the night.
After the sun had risen, Jericho contacted Madeline and asked if she could assign someone as their
local guide.
Madeline, on the other hand, decided to meet up with Jericho herself despite Crystal's opposition after
asking for their precise location.
It was only right for her to personally receive Sam's friend.
After all, they were all potential clients. If Jericho was pleased with her service, he might even
recommend her office to other people.
Most importantly, she didn't have anything in her schedule that day. Everything for the wedding had
been sorted out, and all there was left was for the Harts to escort her.
Seeing that she couldn't dissuade Madeline, Crystal made the latter take Hanson with her.
"I didn't expect you to come personally! Isn't your wedding coming up soon? Well, at least that was
what Sam told me."
"Everything for the wedding has already been sorted out, and I have nothing better to do at home
anyway," Madeline explained. "Besides, you're Sam's friend. It's only right that I receive you
personally."
"That's sweet of you," Jericho thanked. "Nonetheless, your wedding is still more important."
After exchanging pleasantries, the two got down to business, and Madeline introduced Jericho to
Hanson. "This is my brother. He grew up here, so he knows Wendel City like the back of his hand. He'll
take us to the apartment."
Then, after another exchange of pleasantries, the group left the hotel and headed to Peachlyn's current
residence with Hanson as the driver.
"This is it," Madeline pointed out, then asked, "Would you like us to follow along?"
They'd receive all sorts of requests from their clients. Some would ask them to tag along to appear
more commanding while others preferred the privacy, not wanting them to get involved.
Thus, Madeline would check with them beforehand.
"It's okay." Jericho turned her down. "We can do it ourselves."
"Alright," she acknowledged. "We'll be waiting downstairs. You can call me if anything comes up."
"Sure, thank you." After thanking Madeline, Jericho led Milana and a few bodyguards up to Peachlyn's
apartment unit.
When Peachlyn heard the knock at the door, she asked who it was in exasperation before answering it
in her slippers.
She was stumped at first when she found Jericho behind the door, but the next second, she exclaimed
with joy, "Jeric?! W-What are you doing here? Did Mom and Dad send you? I've missed you so much,
Jeric!"
Surprised and joyous, she threw herself at Jericho, but before she could even touch him, Milana
shoved her away. "Don't touch my brother!"
Peachlyn staggered backward in response, and she looked aggrievedly at Milana after steadying
herself. "How could you, Milana?!"
"How could I?!" Milana sneered. "Consider yourself lucky that I've only pushed you. Guess what? I
even want to beat you up!"
With that, she went up to Peachlyn and gave the latter a solid slap before condemning, "Peachlyn
Lewis, do you know how humiliated you've made us?! Grandpa got so angry after finding out you had
eloped that he fell sick, and even I'm being made fun of—thanks to you, no less! My mom and dad
shouldn't have adopted you had we known you're this kind of person. A shameless, ungrateful wench
like you should just rot in hell!"
