After Zoey and Elvis left, Maja was once again hauled back to the lockup.
Zoey made a beeline for the BlueSky Bar. A quick internet search gave her a picture of Beck, and she
started looking around for him.
Before long, she spotted Beck walking in with a woman. She heard him say to the woman, in a
somewhat muffled voice, “Like strawberries? How about coming over tonight? I can plant some
‘strawberries‘ on your neck”
Hearing this, Zoey frowned slightly Could she really rely on this kind of man?
“Mr. Sanders.”
Zoey hurriedly intercepted him.
Beck stopped in his tracks, a twinkle of amusement in his eyes as he looked at Zoey “And you are?”
“Mr. Pennyfeather was taken to the police station, she sent me to find you.”
“Who’s Mr. Pennyfeather?”
“Maja”
At the mention of this name, the smile on Beck’s face vanished instantly. He slowly let go of the woman
he was holding, and his expression turned serious. “Get in my car, we’ll talk on the way.”
Zoey climbed into the car with him, sitting in the passenger seat.
Beck closed the car door, his hands gripping the steering wheel. “What happened?”
“It has to do with the Raymond family. Or you could call lan; he should know.”
Beck actually whipped out his phone and dialed lan’s number.
At the time, lan was in a meeting. He didn’t really want to pick up the call, but eventually he did.
“What’s up?”
“You know Maja was taken in by the police?”
Jan was already in a bad mood, and now he was even more irritated at Beck’s intrusion. “Yeah, so?”
“This has to do with your Raymond family; aren’t you going to deal with it?”
“No.”
Upon hearing this, Beck was livid.
“lan, do you enjoy playing with people’s feelings? If you won’t handle it, I will!”
Upon hearing this, lan’s face darkened.
“Beck, you can’t get involved in this.”
With that, lan hung up the phone.
Beck didn’t quite understand his words until he got to the police station and found out that he was not
even allowed to enter.
It turned out lan had already spoken to the police, who barred him from entering.
He took a deep breath and dialed lan once more.
This time, lan was on his way here, having already canceled his scheduled meeting.

lan was unfazed, barely giving him a glance. “Beck, if you leave now, I’ll bail Maja out. Otherwise, I will
really let her stay in there forever.”
Beck was taken aback, feeling the conflict between him and lan grow

He lowered his gaze. “Are you sure?”
Zoey interjected, “Mr. Sanders, don’t trust him.”
Upon hearing this, lan turned his gaze to her.
He recognized her as Maja’s assistant, who still harbored hostility toward him.
Zoey really didn’t like lan. She always felt that he was just going through the motions with Maja. She
could never let the Incident go
Beck simply stared into lan’s eyes, then turned and gave Zoey a reassuring smile.
“It’s okay. If he doesn’t take Maja with him tonight, we can always come back later.”
Zoey had no choice but to drop it.
It was only after they left that lan took out a cigarette and slowly lit it.
After finishing the cigarette and calming down, he slowly walked in..
When he got to the small room where Maja was locked up, he saw her sitting on the bed in a daze.
“Maja, someone’s here to bail you out.”
At his words, Maja’s eyes flickered. But when she looked up and saw lan, her brief smile faded,
replaced by a cold indifference.
