Alec gently placed Jenny on the couch. “Where’s the injury?”
“Here. Waist.” Jenny pointed at her side. Alec wouldn’t be able to see it directly as her clothes had
covered it.
Alec’s brows furrowed in worry. He wanted to look at the injury, but Jenny wasn’t letting him.
“Don’t worry. They’ve already taken care of it at the hospital.”
“Alright. I believe you.” Alec knew Jenny just didn’t want to undress, so he wouldn’t force her.
“How did you know I was hurt?” Jenny asked curiously. Alec wouldn’t have asked this out of the blue,
right?
The man set a glass of water before her, then answered, “You said that you were eating with Morgan,
but when you sent me your location, it was at the hospital.”
“Was it just because of that?” Jenny asked incredulously. Did Alec come to that conclusion just from the
location alone?
Alec nodded in assent. His intuition had always been spot on, so he immediately guessed something
had happened to Jenny when she made it known that she was at the hospital. The results from his
digging turned up true.

Alec gritted his teeth at the thought of him.
As if Jenny had sensed his intent, she asked, “Don’t do anything to him. The police have arrested him,
so the law will take care of him in time.”
“Jenny!” Alec gritted out, frustrated.
“He’ll get what he deserves. You really don’t need to do anything now,” Jenny begged quietly. She
didn’t want Alec dirtying his hands on scums like Miller.
Alec sighed. He was still upset with Miller Little, but he knew Jenny would only get more upset about
that, so he relented.
Jenny beamed. “Thank you.”
“Does it still hurt?” Alec suddenly asked, still concerned.
Jean shook her head. “It hurt a bit just now, but not anymore.”
Alec huffed and pinched her nose playfully. “How cute.”
Jenny blushed and looked away from the affectionate touch. “Have you had dinner?”
“Mhm.” Alec nodded. He was actually more concerned about Jenny, who probably hadn’t eaten much
for dinner.
“I’ll make you something to eat.” Jenny made to get up. She knew Alec likely hadn’t eaten, given how
hurried he had been to fetch her. She was somewhat hungry herself too.
Alec stopped her. “You can tell me if you’re hungry. I’ll make you something. You should rest.”
Jenny shot him a smile. “I just don’t want you to tire yourself.”
“I wouldn’t be if you actually took care of yourself.” Alec jibed. He knew Jenny had gotten hurt while
protecting Morgan, after all. If she hadn’t stepped up to defend Morgan, Miller wouldn’t have hurt even
an inch of her hair.
Without waiting for Jenny to answer, Alec stood up and went to the kitchen. Very soon, sounds of
cooking could be heard, and a delicious aroma wafted out.
Jenny went to the kitchen doorway and peeked in. She said with a smile, “You’re really sexy when you
cook, chef.”
“Don’t think I’ll become your personal chef just because you’re praising me for cooking. You better
learn to cook too.” Alec said playfully, rolling his eyes. He knew exactly what Jenny was up to.
