Graham really didn’t know how Alec could be so confident about it, but he didn’t pursue things further.
What happened to Alec was none of his business. All he had to do was persuade Jenny not to continue
being with him lest she get in Trouble.
But Jenny didn’t mind. She asked curiously, ‘The family business has started stagnating too, right?’
Graham frowned. He didn’t like where this was going.
“Why don’t you consider buying over the Glass’ business?” Jenny suggested.
If that happened, Alec wouldn’t have to worry about being troubled by them, nor would Rowena be a
threat to Jenny any longer.
Graham shook his head. “Things aren’t that simple, Jenny. The Glass family is one of the Ten Elites in
Bardoff City. Our family isn’t capable of taking them on.”
They might even get themselves in serious trouble.
“What if you work together with Alec? If you need further help, the Windsors can step in too. I’m sure
they’d be interested in his venture.” The fall of the Glass family only meant more benefits for the rest of
the families.
The Ten Elites would never help one of their own, after all.
Seeing Jenny so intent on it happening, Graham turned to Alec. ’What do you think?”
Alec nodded. “I have no qualms about this plan. All we need is your consent to get started.”
For a split second, Graham felt his age get to him.
These youngsters were truly admirable, talking about taking over one of the Ten
Elites like it was just some startup company. Even Alec was onboard with
Jenny’s plan, and his family couldn’t even be said to be on par with the Spade family in Bardoff. At
most, his was a third-class family.
Seeing Alec’s acquiescence, Jenny added, “I think you can really consider this, Dad. Our family will be
able to upgrade itself by taking down the Glass family.”
Graham’s heart skipped a beat. This was the first time in his life that Jenny had called him “Dad.”
He heaved a heavy sigh. He knew Jenny was doing this to help Alec; still, he couldn’t help but soften
up when Jenny called him Dad.
“I’ll give it a serious thought,” he promised.Jenny beamed. ’Take your time to think about it. We’re in no
hurry.”
They had to settle the complications in Parrington first, anyway.
After dinner, Alec got up, ready to leave. There was no reason for him to stay any longer, and Jenny
saw him out.
In the hallway, Alec gazed deeply into Jenny’s eyes for several long seconds, inviting her to ask, “What
are you looking at?”
He smiled, then wrapped his arms around Jenny unexpectedly. “Thank you, Jenny.”
“What for? I didn’t do anything special,’ she murmured.
“You’ve done so much for me already.” Alec knew very well that Jenny’s suggestion to her father had
been for his sake
