Their Relationship Is Unusual

Rosalie left the room. Lowering her voice carefully, she said to the two little ones on the other end, “Be

good. Mommy is still treating a patient and will go back a little later. You can play with your godmother

first.”

The two were already used to their mommy coming home late because of work, so they agreed to what

she said obediently.

Meanwhile, in the room.

The expression on Byron‘s face was so cold it was practically freezing over, but anger surged in his

heart. Estie‘s empty hand and the yell of ‘Mommy‘ that came from the phone appeared in his mind

repeatedly.

No wonder she had been so cold when she saw Estie.

It turned out that this woman was already married and even had children with another man! That was

why she abandoned the child all those years! He looked down at his daughter who was still standing

there. The little girl could not hide the look of loss on her face. When she saw the woman head out, she

still looked up and stared at the door longingly, waiting for her to come back. This scene stung his heart

even more. So what if she came back? That woman still would not want her child! Byron‘s eyes were

frighteningly dark. He strode over to Estie‘s side, crouched down, and picked her up.

Estie looked at her father blankly, tugging at his collar to indicate that she did not want to be held by

him.

Byron pretended not to have noticed. He said to Andrius in a cold voice, “It‘s getting late. I‘ll be bringing

Estie back home first. If Old Man Quirke wakes up, tell him I‘ll see him another day.”

With that, he strode away with Estie in his arms before Andrius could even answer. Rosalie had just

ended her call and was about to head back in. The moment she got to the door, she saw the man exit

from inside expressionlessly. Rosalie’s heart constricted. She was thinking about how to respond, but

the man strode past her as if he had not seen her.

Seeing his figure leaving indifferently, Rosalie could not help feeling slightly stunned. When she came

to, her heart was filled with self–mockery.

It seemed like the man did not even acknowledge the phone call just now.

Yes, they were people who belonged to different worlds since long ago. This was a fact that she had

long recognized. Six years ago, Byron did not even care about her. He even did that kind of thing when

she left. Now, the man was likely not going to take her or the two children seriously. To him, they were

just strangers. Recalling all those emotional ups and downs previously, Rosalie only felt like she was a

joke. After standing outside the door for a long time, Rosalie sighed slightly. She slowly sorted out her

thoughts and walked in.

Andrius was the only one left in the room. Every interaction that had occurred between them just now

was registered in Andrius‘s gaze. He somehow felt that the relationship between these two people did

not seem to be that simple.

Especially Byron.

It was the first time he had seen Byron show so much emotion toward a woman. Andrius was filled with

curiosity, but it was, after all, their private affair. He did not ask many questions. He chatted with

Rosalie about the old man‘s illness as if nothing had happened.

Estie was carried out of the villa by her father before they got into the car. She was a little anxious and

wrote a string of words in her little book. She pulled the corners of her father‘s clothes, asking him to

take a look.

[I haven‘t talked to the lady yet. Can we not leave?]

In his heart, Byron was in chaos as his brows furrowed.

Estie noticed that her daddy‘s mood seemed to be a little low and there was some concern in her eyes.

She wrote: (What‘s the matter, Daddy? Why aren‘t you happy?]
