Got The Best of Me Again
Not long after Melody left, there was a knock at the door of the ward.
Andrea walked in bitterly.
“What’s the matter? Who bullied you?” Wendy was puzzled when she saw her face.
Andrea sat down beside the bed. she absently grabbed an apple and began peeling it while
complaining angrily, “who else but my brother and grandpa!”
Seeing her absent-minded appearance, Wendy hurriedly took the apple and the peeler away from her
hand. She patiently asked, “What did they do to you?”
“They found out that I asked Don not to provide Rosalie the medicinal materials!” Andrea looked at the
person on the hospital bed aggrievedly.
Speaking of it, Wendy was the one who gave her the idea.
If Wendy had not informed her, she would not have known that Melody was targeting Rosalie.
It just so happened that both of them did not like Rosalie, so Wendy took advantage of the situation
and proposed that she should follow the Lawrences and cut off the Quirkes’ medicinal material supply
to Rosalie. 1
On the one hand, they could vent their malice. On the other hand, it was also conducive to bringing the
Quirkes closer to the Lawrences.
Andrea naturally did not think too much about it. She just did as she said because she thought that it
was for Wendy’s benefit.
After being lectured, coming to look for Wendy was her first reaction.
Hearing this, annoyance flashed through Wendy’s eyes, she did not think Andrea would fail to handle
such a small matter, but she still pretended to be an understanding elder sister.
“What happened after that? Did they teach you a lesson?” She pressed softly.
Andrea nodded angrily. “They said I was ruining the Quirke family’s reputation like this. They even told
me I’m not even allowed to meddle in the Quirke family’s affairs from now on! ”
With that, Andrea grabbed Wendy’s uninjured hand. She asked for help, “Wendy, you know I didn’t do
anything wrong. Please help me talk to my brother and my grandfather!”
She did not do anything wrong, but her right to voice in the Quirke family had been taken away from
her without her understanding. Andrea did not think this was fair.
There was a touch of impatience on Wendy’s expression. She shook off her hand without batting an
eyelid and comforted her, saying, “Don’t worry first. It’s normal for old Master Quirke and Andrius to say
so. After all, Rosalie did cure Grandpa Quirke’s condition, and Andrius has always stood on Rosalie’s
side, so it’s also right for him to speak for her.”
Andrea’s expression changed slightly. “So are we going to let her get the best of US this time?”
Wendy’s expression also sank slightly. “Has the Quirkes resumed supply of medicinal materials to
Rosalie’s research institute?”
Andrea nodded with an ugly expression.
Based on what her brother and grandfather had said, they should be supplying Rosalie with the
medicinal materials as promised.
Andrea felt a burst of anger at the thought that Rosalie had not been taught a lesson but that she was
the one who got lectured instead.
Wendy almost could not breathe.
If this was the case, Melody’s scheme during this period would fall short again!
She had only hinted at Andrea to do that in case the Quirkes were to make a move, but she did not
expect her to be so unreliable!
Andrea did not receive a response from Wendy after some time passed, she did not think there was
anything wrong and started complaining again.
“I just don’t understand what’s so good about that Rosalie. She just cured Grandpa, yet he and Brother
are smitten by her. They won’t even believe that what I, their family member, did was clearly for the
benefit of the Quirke family!”
Wendy was irritated. Hearing this, she just responded perfunctorily, “Sooner or later, they’ll know what
you did this time was right.”
Receiving an affirmation after being lectured, Andrea became more and more convinced of her actions.
Even so, she was regretful. “Too bad she got lucky again this time!”
Wendy’s face was full of coldness. “That’s not necessarily the case!”
