Hearing this, Wendy glanced down at her arm in a cast, then raised her eyes and smiled at Rosalie

nonchalantly. “This isn’t a big deal, but it happened two days ago while I was out with Aunt Melody. I

was accidentally scratched by a car. Thankfully, Aunt is fine, and my injury is nothing.”

The implication was to let Rosalie know she got that injury trying to save Mrs. Lawrence.

Rosalie naturally understood her words, smiled, and replied indifferently, “Wow, you and Mrs. Lawrence

have such a good relationship. I’m sure it’ll be smooth sailing for you when you marry into the

Lawrence family. If there isn’t anything else, I need to go now. It’s getting late, and the children are

sleepy.”

After speaking, she turned around to leave without waiting for Wendy to say anything.

Just as she turned around, someone grabbed her wrist.

Rosalie frowned and turned to look at the woman behind her.

Wendy looked at her pitifully, “Actually, there’s one more thing I want to tell you. I wish to apologize to

you.”

Hearing this, Rosalie’s heart became filled with suspicion. She was skeptical about whatever Wendy

had to say next.

“No need.” she responded to Wendy, “You don’t need to apologize or do anything else for me.”

Wendy had indeed done many things against her and her two children in the past.

However, an apology could never make up for it at all. Besides, she did not need this apology anymore.

Anyway, she planned to cut ties with Byron, so she would not have anything to do with them in the

future.

Wendy and Byron just had to stop messing with her life.

Wendy was determined to apologize to her and held her wrist tightly. “I was careless when I tried to

expel your two little boys from kindergarten before. I was too impulsive. Your relationship with Byron six

years ago made me feel insecure. I was afraid that he’d come back to you again, so I tried my best to

put a distance between you both. It’s my fault that I messed with your children. Can you forgive me?”

Rosalie only found her words to be ironic and nodded indifferently, “okay, I forgive you as long as you

leave Lucian and Nox alone in the future. Besides, you can rest assured that Byron has always liked

you. There’s never been a word about him coming back to me, so you don’t need to worry about me.”

After that, Rosalie was not in the mood to talk to her anymore. Seeing that Wendy did not want to let

go, Rosalie frowned and raised her hand to brush her hand away from her wrist.

Just as her hand just touched Wendy’s, the person in front of her suddenly released her hand and

staggered backward, she leaned sideways against the wall.

Rosalie was startled. “What are you doing?”

Wendy held on to the wall for support, gathered herself, and stared at Rosalie blankly before she

replied, “Sorry about that. After my arm got injured, my sense of balance became all wonky, so I

couldn’t stand firm fast enough.”

Without waiting for Rosalie to reply, she continued in a benevolent way, “I’ll be fine. I’m so happy that

you forgive me. Didn’t you just say that the children need to rest? Don’t make them wait for too long,

then. Go take them home.”

Wendy smiled at Rosalie, turned, and entered the corridor.

Looking at Wendy’s back as she was leaving, Rosalie felt that something was out of place.

Wendy’s appearance did seem normal, an she said she was okay. Rosalie did not think about it

anymore and went downstairs to send the little boys home.
