Since the Grandview Villa incident made the news, Liam hadn’t said much, but he’d rarely seen her
alone after that.
Their work connection had since been maintained through Palmer and Liam’s team, with Liam no
longer managing her directly.
Moreover, her resources had dwindled significantly after the previous tailgating incident. Although
plenty of scripts kept coming her way, most were from subpar production teams. Liam didn’t seem to
fight for resources for her anymore.
Sydney wasn’t a professional actress and didn’t have a powerful background. Despite being a popular
actress now, her position was still unstable compared to mainstream stars. To become an A-list star,
she needed a hit drama as a stepping stone.
Yet, the resources Liam provided couldn’t cater to her needs, which left her very agitated.
She looked up at Palmer, “Contact Mr. Reed and see if we can arrange dinner tonight. I have
something to discuss with him.”
Palmer nodded, about to make the call, but Sydney stopped him, “No, tell him I got injured on set and
ask him to come to see me.”
Palmer was surprised, “Won’t that expose the lie?”
He’d met Liam a few times and felt he wasn’t easy to deceive. The relationship between Liam and
Sydney wasn’t one of a typical sugar daddy-celebrity arrangement.
Liam seldom visited Sydney, but whenever she found herself in trouble, he always appeared. Like the
tailgating incident or the charity gala.
Although Sydney didn’t suffer serious injuries, Liam still seemed very concerned.
Palmer couldn’t read someone like Liam. As Sydney’s agent, he didn’t want her to get too close to
Liam.
Sydney was very popular, and promotion to an A-list star would be just a matter of time if she focused
on her career. She had a bright future ahead. However, Liam was married, and exposure of their
dangerous relationship would be devastating to her career.
But that was just Palmer’s view. He could only help Sydney solve risks but couldn’t make decisions for
her.
“Just do it my way, I’ll take care of it.”
Palmer reluctantly tried to contact Liam’s team.
Liam had been in a terrible mood lately.
Company employees had noticed.
Although Liam often appeared cold, at least he’d previously nod in response when someone greeted
him.
Lately, he’s been frowning at everyone, looking all grumpy and miserable. So, everyone was super
cautious when reporting their work, afraid that Mr. Reed might take it out on them if they said
something wrong
Even though Mr. Reed didn’t seem to vent his personal emotions at work, his expression was just way
too scary.
After seeing the guests off, Owen poured Liam a cup of tea and whispered, “Mr. Reed, Savor
Symphony has come out with some new desserts. Wanna grab some for Ms. Campbell? She’s really
into their stuff, right?”
Liam didn’t respond.
Owen went on, “Ms. Campbell is quite fond of their cakes.
Liam frowned, “What’s it to me what she likes to eat?”
Owen remarked, “Last year’s birthday cake for Ms. Campbell got snatched by Ms. Kaylee.”
Liam paused, pressed his lips together, and said, “Do you have nothing better to do than yappy away
here?”
Owen shut up, “Okay, I will go get busy”
Just as he was about to step out, he heard Liam say, “Get a few. At least it’ll shut her up.”
As soon as Owen stepped out, Nicolas sent him a video. To his surprise, the cover showed Celeste,
her eyes were gloomy and her face was covered in bright red blood
