“If this isn‘t a gift from that b*stard Nathaniel, then... it‘s from your boyfriend.” Olivia smiled meaningfully
at Lily.
She was the only one who knew who Lily‘s boyfriend was. Lily had wanted to deny it but changed her
mind. If she kept denying it, the others would be even more interested in the person, and their curiosity
about him might exceed the gift itself. Lily did not want people to keep asking about this matter, so she
responded vaguely, “Yeah!”
“Wow, look at how creative her boyfriend is!”
“Yeah, I‘ve seen people gift flowers, chocolates, make–up, and handbags, but this is the first time I‘ve
seen someone gifting a wooded sculpture.”
“By the way, shouldn‘t your boyfriend send you rare spices or plants instead, Lily? A gift you‘ll surely
like!”
Her colleagues chattered non–stop. Jenny saw their excitement and coughed, “Why don‘t I see you
guys actively speak up during meetings instead?” Her sudden reminder woke everyone up. It was still
working hours, and they were still in the office. Everyone sat back in their seats and dared not discuss
further.
Jenny glanced around before she retracted her gaze and looked at Lily, “Why...” She hesitated a
moment, “Why don‘t you put it in my office first?
Then you can bring it home after work.”
Lily thought for a while and nodded, “All right!”
It was not difficult to move it around after unpacking. Lily just needed to be careful as the crane seemed
fragile. The packaging was so big and cumbersome because it had a large wooden frame and a lot of
packaging materials to prevent collision and damage.
Luckily the crane was not damaged when the handyman removed the packaging earlier. She moved it
into the office and placed it in the corner. It looked lifelike, which made people like it even more.
Jenny glanced at it several times and felt quite happy with it, “Can you ask your boyfriend where he
brought that from? I want to buy one too. It‘s stunning!”
Lily kept quiet.
“What‘s wrong? Can‘t I even ask where he got it from? Don’t worry. I won’t buy the same one as yours.
I don‘t have someone to gift it to me, but I can buy one for myself, right?” Jenny nudged Lily with her
elbow and asked half–jokingly.
“I‘ll ask him when I get home.”
That kid just sent things over and did not leave a word, so Lily still did not know how to find him.
Besides, considering his temper, it was still unknown if he was willing to help others with their orders.
“Ms. Gray.” Olivia‘s voice sounded as she knocked on the door.
Jenny answered, “Come in.”
Olivia opened the door and entered the room. She looked at Lily and said, “Lily, Nathaniel publicly
apologized.”
“What?!” Lily was stunned and thought she must have misheard it.
“He apologized?” Jenny was also shocked. Her first reaction was to get up and turn on her computer.
As expected, she found the apology statement that Nathaniel had posted. It was a long article similar to
an essay. He had just posted it but quickly gained popularity.
“He admitted?” Jenny raised her eyebrows and looked at the other two. The two were also unclear, so
the trio read the article together.
