Chapter 641
“You’re overthinking it. What would I get from selling you out? Besides, didn’t we agree on it before?”
Jonathan remained calm as Henry approached. “I know you’re losing your patience, but it’s been years.
What’re a few more days for you? I’m already at such an old age and have no children. Sooner or later,
this would all fall into your hands.”
Henry, standing in front of Jonathan, stared at him before coldly saying, “It’s good that you’re aware.
Uncle, you can’t blame me for bringing this up. That old man had thrown me aside, but my people are
all capable men. The Lodge family has always kept a low profile over the years. I hope I don’t have to
hurt my family if push comes to shove.”
Jonathan was stunned to hear this and sighed. “What are you talking about? We’re all a family. What
do you mean by that?”
After a pause, Jonathan added, “Back to the main point, three days willld pass in a blink of an eye. We
must come up with some concrete evidence to convince the public. Although the elders won’t care as
much, they still have a reputation to uphold.”
“Well, since you brought it up to her, I’ll leave that to you,” Henry retorted with a snort. He had no
means to help at all. “It’s not that easy to be the patriarch now, isn’t it?”
With that said, Henry turned and left the room. Jonathan’s eyes darkened as he stared down. the
empty doorway.
Henry quickly made his way downstairs and into his car as he had an appointment elsewhere. Of
course, he couldn’t tell Jonathan about this. After living abroad for so many years, Henry knew it was
important to keep a trump card to himself. Besides, he still couldn’t see Jonathan’s intentions.
He drove through the wilderness to a development area in Sapphine. This piece of land was still under
construction belonging to the Lodge family. The potential value of this location was immeasurable.
In Henry’s mind, he can’t be blamed for his ruthlessness. Back then, wasn’t Wilfred more ruthless when
he scrapped Henry’s efforts and drove him out of the Lodge family? Now, Henry was just coming back
to take what was his.
As for Justin and Lily, Henry had no intention of killing them as long as they knew their places and
stayed obedient. The car continued to drive on before stopping at a large empty field, now a half–
constructed abandoned theme park.
A contractor back then had plans to construct a large amusement park in this area. The money ran out
in the middle of the project, and he had so many follow–up bills to pay that he could. not afford to finish
it. This piece of land was subsequently left undeveloped.
Once the development rights of this plot had been taken, this palace would be rebuilt.
For the time being, it served as a somewhat discreet gathering spot. Nobody would ever walk through
here. It was so exposed that anyone hiding there would be easily spotted.
In the distance, Henry noticed a white car parked not far ahead and braked once he was nearer to it.
Henry was in no haste to exit the vehicle. He kept the car running, shifted into park, then lit up and took
a few leisurely drags from his cigarette.
A few minutes later, the front door of the white car opened, and a man dressed in a suit and leather
shoes walked toward Henry.
Henry narrowed his eyes and took a deep breath before rolling down his car window. “Mr. Lodge.”
