Chapter 551 Alexander acted on his ideas as soon as he voiced them. Within a week, he prepared
everything for Lily after their conversation the other day. Not only did he provide her with a personal
lab, but he also made sure she had enough staffing and the proper facilities to assist her.
According to Alexander, she only had to think about her brand name and when to officially introduce
her brand to the public. Her brand would still be under the Rebirth umbrella, as Rebirth‘s reputation was
increasing. It had been recently chosen as the leading branch under the La Beaute Group brand,
Lily had been really busy with this new project of hiers, and even though she was enjoying it, it was still
tiring. Her new workplace was quite far from Rebirtli but there was a garden nearby. Alexander
specifically selected this area because he was sure that Lily needed a place where she could quickly
assess different kinds of materials as well as draw inspiration from them.
Alexander was always thoughtful and kind. No one knew it better than her. Lily looked around her new
workplace and could feel that she was slowly but surely inching closer to her dream.
In the past, her family was against it when she first started studying to be a perfumer. Then, she fought
and left them estranged when she got together with Nathaniel. During the competition, she also
doubted her abilities when she lost. It led to her shutting herself out from the world and willingly working
as a perfumer in the background. Her life was finally picking up, and she knew exactly what she wanted
and what to work toward.
By the time she left her lab, it was already dark outside. Since her new workplace was not in the city
center, there were not many streetlights and not as brightly lit. This made the stars in the night sky
shine brighter. While the cold night breeze continued to blow, Lily tightened her coat around her and
walked to her car.
At that moment, a car‘s headlights on the opposite side of the road shone at her. It was so bright that
she could barely open her eyes. Lily raised her hand to block the lights and glanced at that car, then
she noticed a man getting off and walking toward her.
She could not clearly see his face, but from his silhouette and the way he was carrying himself, she
knew exactly who he was. Lily laughed. What was he planning again? When she got closer, she could
see him holding a massive bouquet of roses in his hands, and it was quite a funny scene.
Alexander probably found this situation awkward as well. He was always calm and collected, but now
he looked stiff and uncomfortable. He strolled toward her, “This is for you.”
Even his words sounded stiff, Lily was surprised to receive the huge bouquet, and it made her want to
laugh as well. They were already together for quite some time now and were like close
comrades. He had never done such a thing, so wliy did he gift lier with flowers today?
“Was today our anniversary or something?” She frowned, deep in thought. They had only gotten
married recently, and it had not even been a year yet.
Their first encounter was not today as well. Besides, it was not anyone‘s birthday celebration. ‘So, was
it because of her new workplace? Then again, they had not officially announced it to the public yet.
Then why did he... was it because there was a huge discount for roses?‘ Lily could not help but ponder.
Lily did not reach out her hand to accept the flower. Instead, she looked at him and asked,” What‘s the
meaning of this?”
“Giving you flowers,” Alexander extended his hands with the flowers toward Lily.
Was this not obvious enough? He could not understand why her reaction was so unpredictable. Didn‘t
they say women would be touched if you give them flowers?‘ Alexander was confused.
“I know you‘re giving me flowers, but why? Is today a special day?” She questioned again while tilting
her head to one side. Her hands were still behind hier back, and she was not planning to accept them
anytime soon. Alexander frowned, “Must it be a special day to give you slowers? Why can‘t I give them
to you on any day? Just take it!” It looked strange for a man like him to hang onto such a huge bunch of
roses.
He took her hands and placed the flowers into lier embrace, forcing her to accept them. Lily smiled
uncontrollably as she saw that he could not wait to get rid of them. He was such a boy, and Lily would
not have expected anything romantic from him. Look at how he was trying to give her flowers. It was
just so awkward. She was thankful that their marriage happened so fast and that it was a secret from
the public. If he had to propose to her openly, she did not know what to expect.
