“How did you come up with the idea of finding a nanny?” Arissa was quite curious about the reason
behind Benjamin's sudden proposal.
He gently patted her head and recounted what Darius had mentioned to him during their dinner
conversation. “It would be beneficial to have someone more experienced taking care of you. If we wait
until after the baby is born, it might be too late,” he explained.
Arissa smiled. “You guys are just being overtly nervous. There are many housekeepers at home.
Besides, I can take care of myself too!”
“If we do find someone, we can have them take care of Gavin and the other kids first. That way, they
won't feel neglected and think that we only care about the new baby.”
Benjamin was wearing a serious expression as his eyes fixed on the six children not far away.
Arissa was pleasantly surprised and playfully teased him, saying, “I didn't expect this, Mr. Graham. I
thought you had forgotten about them!”
The corner of Benjamin's mouth twitched, and his gaze settled on her. He responded, “Am I really that
terrible?”
“Mmhm!” Arissa imitated his tone and let out a coquettish hum in response.
With a swift movement of his long arm, Benjamin effortlessly pulled her into his embrace, gently placing
her on his lap.
“I did say I would pay attention, so naturally I would be concerned about the children.”
A sweet feeling filled Arissa's heart as she held his hand and said gently, “Let's go to the children.”
She hadn't been able to spend much time with the children as she was hospitalized. Thankfully, they
had been well-behaved and obedient during her absence.
Benjamin fixed his eyes on her for a while before carrying her over.
Arissa tightly gripped the shirt on his chest and pleaded, “Why are you still carrying me? Please put me
down. I want to walk on my own!”
The man lowered his eyes and glanced at her. “Behave. I'll set you down later.”
Arissa was rendered speechless. She couldn't help but wonder if this man had developed an addiction
to holding her.
Benjamin carried her to the children before putting her down.
Gavin, Danny, Zachary, Oliver, Jasper, and Jesse noticed their presence and gathered around them.
They called out in unison, “Mommy!”
Arissa embraced them all warmly, playfully teasing each of them in turn.
“What were you playing just now?”
“We were playing hide-and-seek, Mommy!”
“Can I join?” Arissa also wanted to play with them.
“Okay!” The children applauded and cheered.
“Why are you playing around with the children? You've just recovered, and it's not advisable to run
around like that.”
Benjamin pulled Arissa closer, smoothing out her clothes, and reproached her in a hushed voice.
Arissa was speechless. “I just want to play with them for a while.”
The six children looked at Benjamin's serious look and slyly stuck out their tongues.
Zachary chimed in, “Mr. Graham, Mommy also needs to exercise properly to maintain good health.”
“Your game might be a bit too intense for her. Why don't you play it amongst yourselves?”
Benjamin expressed his disapproval of Arissa playing hide-and-seek with the children, concerned that
she might accidentally fall down.
Zachary frowned before breaking into a smile and exclaiming, “Then we won't play hide-and-seek!”
“Well, how about we play cards instead?” Oliver's eyes sparkled mischievously behind his glasses,
envisioning the potential for a game with some friendly wagers.
“Good idea!” Jesse seconded, clapping her little hands.
Sensing the children's exuberant energy, Arissa smiled and suggested, “We can play cards later when
we're inside the house. But for now, let's take a walk and enjoy the garden together.”
The children had no objections and eagerly pulled Arissa along.
Witnessing the strong bond between Arissa and the children, Benjamin couldn't help but feel a twinge
of jealousy in his heart as none of the children seemed to pay him much attention.
“Bundle up. The wind is strong!”
Stepping forward, Benjamin gathered Arissa's clothes together and proceeded to button her up.
Arissa appeared as if she were a child wearing oversized clothes as the garments hung loosely on her.
Oliver and Jasper playfully hid underneath the loose hem of Arissa's clothes, giggling mischievously.
“Haha, we've become Mommy's babies again!”
Arissa was amused by the children's innocence and caressed their heads through the clothes.
