"Date?! What are you talking about?!" Athena asked in disbelief while looking at him as if he had lost a
few screws in his head.
But the mention of date put a shy smile on her face as well which he noticed.
"I am talking about our date, Athena.I never knew you were so slow in catching such things." He
teased, earning a frown immediately.
"What date? When did I agree to it? I didn‘t even know about it until now.So, how can you bring me on
a date? And who brings someone for a date to a place like this?" She asked with a frown, playing hard
before giving in.
He smirked at her, understanding what her intention was.He knew that she liked the place very much.
"My goodness.You have so many questions to ask."
He sighed and she looked at him with narrowed eyes.
"Yes, and you are going to answer each of them." She said in an adamant tone, earning a chuckle from
him which made her heart skip a beat at the sound.
But she tried her best to not show any expression as she kept looking at him like she didn‘t care about
what was happening.
"Okay, okay.I will answer each of them.I never said I wasn’t going to.But before that, I need your help
with something."
He said as he looked at her with hopeful eyes.
She looked at him suspiciously because he was sounding way too innocent while asking for help.She
felt that something was up with him.
"Okay...? What is it?" She asked in a suspicious tone, waiting to hear with what she can help the great
alpha Dominic.
"I need your help to pull me up so that I can get up.I am all wet and it‘s too slippery.I can’t get up
without some help.Also I can’t answer all your questions while being in the water, right?" He asked
innocently while making complete sense and that made her more suspicious.
He continued when she kept looking at him silently.
"So, are you going to help me?" He asked once again while giving her the most innocent boyish look
he could pull off, making her sigh.
"You are acting weird, do you know that?"She asked while letting out another sigh.
His’ weirdness’ was making her heart go crazy, does he have any idea about that?
"Weird? How weird?" He asked in the same way, knowing very well about the effect he has on her.
He smirked internally, enjoying her reactions way too much.
"Ugh! I can‘t explain that.Just let it go and give me your hands.On the count of three, I will pull you up
and you will jump up as well.Okay?" She asked in a strict tone and he immediately nodded at her,
agreeing to her demand without any questions.
She forwarded her right hand toward her without thinking much.
"Okay, okay.On the count of three." He said as he held her hand tightly in his cold and wet hand while
giving her a smirk.
She frowned at his smirk but it was too late for her to read into that as she started counting already.
"One...Two...The – … Ahhh! Dominic!"
She let out a loud squeal as instead of pulling him forward, she felt a hard pull toward Dominic and
within seconds they both were back into the water which was surprisingly warm.
His hands were tightly wrapped around her waist as they went deep into the lake water because of the
force of their weight.
After a few seconds of being there, Dominic swam both of them back into the shore while still holding
her.
She was holding onto him tightly as well as if her life depended on him.
They both took deep breaths as soon as they were up in the air.
Athena pushed the hair away from her face before glaring at him while he laughed out loud.
"Dominic! What the hell was that?! Why did you pull me into the water?!"
She shrieked out loudly while slapping him on his broad and naked shoulder and that’s when she
realised once again that he wasn’t wearing anything at the upper side of his body.
He smirked when he saw the realisation on her face.
"Because I wanted to do this with you…."
Saying that he pulled her down, upto his face height before slamming his lips on her, taking her breath
away once again.
His mouth, hot and daring, met her.
All playfulness had left him and he kissed her with his own black fire, deep and possessive, consuming
her body, her soul, and laying waste to all past notions of what it meant to be kissed.
Their lips were in perfect sync, matching rhythm, shape and intensity.
He brushed his tongue against her kiss swollen bottom lip and she couldn‘t hold back the moan that
escaped her throat.
Heat was building at the apex of her thighs causing wetness to pool and she didn’t realise when she
grinded herself into his thigh for friction.
Dominic’s hands made their way down to her bottom and he scooped her up, she immediately wrapped
her legs around his waist as he swam them in the middle of the lake without even breaking the kiss.
But soon the need of oxygen knocked on their senses and they pulled away for a split of seconds.
Dominic didn‘t stop there as he continued peppering her neck down to her collarbone and back up with
passionate kisses.
Every place his lips met her skin set her on fire even though she was in the middle of a lake with
nothing but water around them.
Her insides were churning in nervousness, desire and excitement.
This was like nothing she had ever experienced before.
It was so intense like his hands and lips were all over her at once.
There were no thoughts anymore, only burning need.
But something clicked inside her and she pulled herself away from him.
He immediately protested against and let out a low growl.He tightened his hold around her but she put
more force into pulling herself away from him.
That made him frown as he pulled away from her neck and looked at her with a deep frown.
"What’s wrong?" He asked in a hoarse voice while looking at her with darkened eyes which were
glistening brightly under the mood light.
A frown took place upon his face as soon as he saw the look of distress on her face..
"Everything is wrong, Dominic.Everything that‘s happening currently is wrong.Can you deny it?"
She exclaimed in distress while pulling herself completely away from his hold.
He didn’t like that at all and immediately pulled her back on his chest by pulling her by her waist.
She bumped back on his chest and looked up at him with a helpless frown.
"What do you mean by everything going wrong? Are you talking about the kiss? Our closeness? Our
moment? Are you saying these are wrong?! I will never agree to that."
He stated in a hard and determined tone, making her let out a sigh.
"No, Dominic.I am not talking about that.And you very well know that.You know exactly what I am
talking about."
She sighed in tiredness as she closed her eyes tightly, praying for him to drop the act and he suddenly
went silent and serious.
That made her nervous as she saw the look on his face.
He didn’t say anything and suddenly started to swim toward the surface.
She looked at him in shock before following behind him immediately.
"Dominic!" She called behind him in confusion but he didn‘t reply.
He reached the surface and got up from the water.
But he didn‘t get completely out.
He just sat on the ground with his leg dangling into the water.
She looked at her in confusion and nevertheless followed his actions and sat on the ground like him
while keeping her legs into the crystal water as well.
"Ace is…my son…" He suddenly spoke up.
She looked at him with a frown unable to determine if that was a question or statement.She tried to
read his expression which he kept blank as well.
His emptiness scared her.
That was almost proving everything she was scared of.
She didn’t know what to say or do at that moment other than nodding at him slowly and nervously.
"Yes, Ace is yours…and mine son."
She confirmed his statement or question whatever it is while making sure to show off her right on Ace
as well.She could never lose him no matter what.
"We created him that night..."
He mumbled out once again while looking blankly at the water.He spoke so lowly that she almost didn’t
hear him if it wasn’t for the werewolf power to hear almost anything "Yes...We created him that night.He
is the sign of that night."
She spoke up in a low tone while looking at the water as well as she got lost at the thought of the past
once again.
"I......always felt a connection whenever I was near him or with him.It was so hard.Trust me, Athena, it
was so hard to not believe that he wasn’t my son.I had fallen in love completely with him without even
knowing that he is my son.Without knowing that he was my blood, he was mine as much as he was
yours.It was really hard, Athena."
He spoke up in a broken tone as helpless tears fell from his eyes without his control or permission.
"I know… I know how hard it is, Dominic.Trust me I know."
She cried as well while not looking at him away as she remembered all the hardships she had to go
alone while she was pregnant with Ace.
It’s not like she regretted any of that because the moment she held him for the first time in her hands,
she felt like the happiest human being in the whole world.
"Why?!"
He suddenly asked, making her confused as she looked at him with a frown and found him already
looking at her with an accusing frown on his face.
"Why didn’t you tell me earlier? Why didn’t you find me when you found out that you were pregnant?
Why didn’t you tell me about him as soon as we met again after years? Why did you tell me that he
wasn’t mine? Why did you keep him away from me for so long? Why?! Why, Athena?!"
He exclaimed in agony while clutching her arms tightly as he shook her hard and accusingly.
Unshed tears made his eyes turn completely red, making him look like the broke man which he was.
"How dare you blame me, Dominic?! How dare you?!"
She gave a hard push on his chest as she cried out loud in anger and frustration.
"Do you know what I have been through in these three years?! Do you have any fucking idea? I had to
go through hell everyday while I was pregnant with Ace.I had to go through the pain of rejection.I had
gone through the pregnancy heat alone.I had to die everyday to keep him alive while I wandered
around the forest as the rogue I was.I had to fight everyday to keep his scent safe from those rogues,
otherwise they would have killed him immediately after knowing I was raising an alpha‘s child in my
womb.Do you know how hard that was!? If that wasn’t enough, I was kidnapped by Alpha Derrick and
kept as a maid.Do you have any fucking idea how hard that was?! Then how dare you blame me for
this?!"
She shouted at him while punching him on the chest nonstop to vent all the pent up anger of years.
He closed his eyes, accepting all her complaints without any word.He sat in front of her with his head
hanging low in shame.He knew she wasn’t done yet hence he didn’t speak up and let her continue
without any word.
"And what did you say? You said why didn‘t I come to you? Why didn‘t I find you? Why I lied to him
about his father and why I didn‘t tell you about him the first time I met you again after years, right? How
could you ask me those questions? How could you? Do you know how scared I was? Wanna know
why?" She asked while looking at him with hurtful eyes which made him look away from her
immediately.
He couldn‘t bear the heaviness of her eyes as it broke his heart into pieces but she continued.
"I was afraid of two reasons and those two reasons led me to no one but you.I was scared of you,
Dominic! You were the reason I didn‘t tell you about him! Only you should be blamed for everything!"
She shouted as tears fell from her eyes uncontrollably.
"Do you wanna know why?" She asked and when he didn‘t say anything, she spoke up again.
"I was afraid that either you would push Ace away just like you pushed me away or you would snatch
my only reason of survival, him, away from me, just like you did years ago when you rejected me.I was
afraid of you, Dominic.I was afraid of you."
She cried with her head on his chest.She was exhausted.She finally felt free after being able to say
everything which she kept inside her for years.She felt relieved.
He looked at her with a pained expression as he didn‘t have the face to say anything.
But it surely hurt him to know that he pushed her so much that she was forced to keep their son away
from him only.She was afraid of their son’s safety only from him.
What a tragedy!
"I am sorry."
He suddenly spoke up ever so softly in a regretful tone, making her pull away from him and looked at
him in shock.She wanted to make sure if what she heard was right.
"Wh…what did you just say?"She asked in shock and disbelief.
Alpha Dominic was saying sorry! It was like the eighth wonder of the world.
The prideful alpha was saying sorry with utmost sincerity, did she need anything else in the world.
She was so shocked that she went completely speechless, unable to say a single word.
"I am sorry, Athena.I know no amount of sorry can recover what you had to go through for me but trust
me I don’t have anything else to offer you other than my apologies.I have never been good with words
or expressing what I want to say.You can blame my past for that.But I am not trying to give any
excuses.What I am saying is, I can’t take it anymore.I have had enough and I am exhausted
now.Running behind revenge has sucked my energy completely.I can’t take it anymore.I want some
peace and happiness in my life as well.Only you and Ace can give me that.I am begging you for
that.Please give me a chance.Please."
He begged while putting his head down in front of her while he was kneeling down.
She looked at him in shock and confusion.
What just happened was too much for her.
He seriously washed away all his ego and pride in the lake before taking this huge step.
She knew what that meant to him.
She could tell how hard it was for him to come out of the shell he was in and say this to her.
She didn‘t know anything about his past or the revenge he was talking about but he knew it must be
something really deep to turn him like this.
But could she look past what she has been through just like that? Yes, she could.
AT THAT MOMENT
She knew what she had to do at that moment and she didn‘t delay another second in pulling his head
up and pressing her lips on her.
And he knew what that meant without a second thought...
