“Ms? Scary?” Cornelia didn’t turn her head, her eyes still fixed on the big screen. The scene was

She continued, “So you guys want me to just let those who bully me continue to do so? I don’t fight
back and then you think I’m a good girl?”
Brian was stunned, momentarily at a loss for words.
Cornelia let out a small laugh. I’ve never intended to hurt anyone, or even thought about how to harm
you. Today, I’ve merely been responding to your provocations If anyone’s scary, it’s you. Now you’re
saying I’m scary. Is it because I’m not scared of you? Or because I’m not a weak girl who just lets
others bully her?”
“I didn’t really want to do anything to you. 1 just wanted to test you.” Brian said.
“Test what?” Comelia asked.
“Character, courage, intelligence, and so on. The Duran family isn’t ordinary. To live in such a family,
you have to be extra careful, or you might not even know how you’ve failed. You’ve passed the tests of
courage and wisdom, and I’m ready to officially accept you as a member of the Duran family” Brian
said.

“There’s no need for you to worry. I have my own way back. Cornelia took out her phone and dialed
Ayden’s number, “Ayden, are you there?”

Ayden’s calm and firm voice came through the phone, “Since this is a restricted area, I can’t come in. I

Cornelia said, “I understand. I’ll come find you.
Seeing Cornelia hang up, Brian quickly asked, “You’ve been saying you brought someone. I can let the
guards know in advance and let them in. Why didn’t you say so earlier?”
“Thanks for your kindness, but I don’t need it.” Cornelia waved at Brian, then walked away with
confident strides, “Goodbye”
Brian said, “Goodbye!”
As soon as Cornelia left, Wyatt, Alexa and Emily quietly gathered behind Brian.
Wyatt said, “Did we just shoot ourselves in the foot?”
