Carmella’s palm was sweating as she held her phone, “Grandpa, I just graduated, and I don’t want to
date yet.”
Terrence went silent for a moment, his voice tumed gloomy. “Carmella, business hasn’t been good for
these two years, and the Macclain family is not as good as before. There’s going to be a big project
opening up in J City soon, and Gentry’s uncle is in charge of it. If our families get along, we might have

Estelle asked, “Do Mom and Dad know?”
Carmella pitifully cried, “No. Grandpa doesn’t want me to tell them. He said the Macclain family raised
me for more than twenty years and that I should give back. Sister, please help me!”

She went on, “Grandpa wants me to meet Gentry at six tonight at Serenity y Heights. Sister, can you
come with me? I’m afraid to go alone.”
Estelle hesitated for a moment, “Okay, I’ll go with you.”
