Just like that, it was the weekend again.
On Saturday morning, Gwen got all dolled up to attend a charity gala with Yvonne.
Estelle went to teach Henson.
During the break after the class, Estelle suddenly asked, “When is your Uncle Jonathan’s birthday?”
Henson shot her a teasing look, “Why, planning to get my Uncle Jonathan a birthday gift?”
“Just tell me when his birthday is.”
Henson chuckled, “Why don’t you tell me what you’re thinking of getting him first?”
“How would I know what to get him if I don’t even know when his birthday is?” Estelle lightly laughed,
“Spill it!”
Henson checked the date and grinned, “It’s in a month!”
“That’s fast!” Estelle seemed pensive. He had given her such a special gift for her birthday. What
should she get him? Henson leaned in, “How about a citywide billboard wishing him a happy birthday
on his big day?
Estelle retorted, “I’m afraid I might scare him!”
Henson burst into laughter, “Then marry him!”
Estelle’s heart skipped a beat. Should she put their marriage certificate in a gift box for him? That might
surprise him even more!
Seeing her deep in thought, Henson couldn’t help but tease, “Are you that smitten with Uncle
Jonathan?”
Estelle acted casual, “He’s so great, is it strange that I like him?..
Henson laughed, “I could record what you just said and gift it to him. He’d definitely love it!”
After sharing a laugh, Estelle patted his shoulder, “Back to class!”
“Wait!” Estelle composed herself, “You can’t tell your Uncle Jonathan about our conversation today!
“Don’t worry, I’ll be your ally until you two get married!” Henson promised earnestly.
“And after we get married?”
“After you get married,” the boy’s eyes twinkled with mischief, “I’ll take sides with whoever treats me
better!”
Estelle chuckled at his cunningness.
After finishing the class with Henson, Estelle went to the restaurant and worked for the afternoon. By
the time she returned to the Royal Mansion, it was almost dark.
Jonathan came back from the office and picked her up to have dinner at Courtney’s.
Estelle and Jonathan often came here and had become very familiar with Courtney.
When Courtney came out to serve the dishes, she told Estelle she had two rabbits in the backyard and
asked if she wanted to see them.
Estelle wasn’t particularly interested in animals, but seeing Courtney’s enthusiasm, she got up and
followed her to the backyard.
As soon as she entered the backyard, she saw two snow–white rabbits under a tree. As she
approached, the bunnies hopped over, nuzzling her shoes.
Estelle crouched down and stroked a rabbit’s ear. It was very soft and made her heart feel warm.
Courtney turned around to see Jonathan leaning against a begonia tree, a gentle smile on his lips as
he watched Estelle with fondness.
She walked over to him and chuckled, “You seem smitten with her. Are wedding bells in the near
future?”
Jonathan, handsome and composed, lightly smiled, “Soon.”
“Make sure you let me know when you two set a date.” Courtney said with joy.
“Of course.” Jonathan nodded.
Estelle was observing the rabbits under the tree when she suddenly felt a shadow over her. Turning
around, she found Jonathan had draped a coat over her.
He crouched down, wrapping his arms around her shoulders, and whispered, “Do you like them? If you
do, we can keep one, or even take one home.”
Estelle shook her head, “I can’t guarantee I’ll have time to take care of them. If they die because I
neglected them, wouldn’t it be a pity?”
Jonathan smiled, “If you’re even afraid to keep a rabbit, what will we do when we have children?”
