The car pulled up at the bottom of the building. Estelle got out, turned around, and said gently with a
smile, “Drive safe!”
“See you tomorrow!” Jonathan replied with a grin.
Estelle waved and left with the pastries.
Jonathan watched Estelle retreat back; the smile faded from his face, and his eyes filled with
melancholy. He thought, was there really no way they can go back to what they were?
