Sallie approached, spotting Carmella’s look of disdain, “What were you just talking about with Estelle?”
Carmella responded with a smile, “Just laying down some facts for Estelle.”
Estelle, with her striking and icy expression, shot Carmella a glance, then strode off.
Inside the studio, the director and producer were on hand. They got up to warmly greet Estelle as she
entered.
“Miss Estelle, please have a seat!”
The director poured Estelle a coffee himself and said with a chuckle, “We heard from Amber that you
were the one who persuaded Mr. Gellar. We’ve been wanting to thank you.”
Estelle replied, “It was nothing. I just talked Mr. Gellar into joining your show. But actually, he was
supposed to work with Sallie. I heard there’s been a change, and I want to know why!”
The director smiled, “Miss Macclain, we invited Mr. Gellar to boost our ratings. Mr. Gellar had his own
reasons, too. As long as everyone’s goals are met, the rest doesn’t really matter, right? Who he works
with doesn’t change anything, does it?”
Estelle’s look was icy, “Of course it matters. If I had known that Carmella was going to be working with
Mr. Gellar, I wouldn’t have bothered to persuade him. I did it for Sallie, not Carmella!”
The producer walked over and said, “Miss Macclain, I know you’re a designer at Snowy Studios. We
understand that you’re looking out for your own interests. I promise we can give your studio more
exposure on the show, and we’ll give Sallie more screen time. Even though she’s not the main focus,
we’ll make sure she gets more attention than last time. Is that okay?”
He finished speaking and pushed a pre–prepared card in front of Estelle, “We wouldn’t expect you to
do this for nothing. Here’s ten grand. Keep it, and if you can get Mr. Gellar to work with Carmella, we’ll
double it.”
The director added, “Miss Macclain, you can tell Mr. Gellar that if he’s not happy with his remuneration,
he can negotiate.”
“That amount of money won’t cut it with me!” Estelle barely glanced at the card on the table, a cold
smile playing on her lips.
The producer quickly responded, “How much do you want? Name your price. We can negotiate.”
“A billion, right here, right now!” Estelle retorted.
The producer’s face immediately turned stern, “Miss Macclain, you’re taking this joke a bit too far!”
Estelle showed no fear, “You were the ones who started joking with me!”
The producer’s face was no longer as friendly as before, “Miss Macclain, just say what you want. If you
want to be on our show, we can arrange a guest role for you. With your looks, guarantee you can steal
the spotlight.”
“You once invited me, but I was busy, so I declined!” Estelle responded, “My demand is to let Sallie
work with Mr. Gellar. There’s no room for negotiation.”
The producer and director exchanged glances.
Had they ever invited Estelle?
Having heard what Estelle said afterward, the producer’s face turned serious again, “Miss Macclain,
your studio director, Miss Sophia, is also our show’s art director, but she’s not present right now. Sallie,
another member of your studio, working with us benefits both parties. I don’t think it’s necessary to
damage mutual interests just because of a rash decision. I believe that even if your boss, Mr. Jason,
were here, he would also consider the overall interests.”
Estelle’s eyes held a hint of frost as she coldly said, “Jason isn’t here, so I’m making the decision. Our
studio convinced Mr. Gellar, so only someone from our studio can work with Mr. Gellar!”
Both the director and producer were taken aback by Estelle’s words. Although Estelle appeared young
with a somewhat juvenile face, they had to respect the cold and ruthless aura she emitted, which even
outshone theirs.
The producer, annoyed by Estelle’s arrogance and assertiveness, said, “Miss Macclain, you’ve crossed
the line!”
“Not at all, my words stand. If you dare to replace Sallie, I’ll immediately pull Sophia and Sallie from
your show, and our studio will never work with your station again!”
Estelle’s voice was low, but her words were strong and resolute.
The producer asked sarcastically, “Miss Macclain, can you make decisions for the entire Snowy
Studios?”
“You’re welcome to try!” Estelle coldly replied.
The director sneered angrily, “Miss Macclain, let me tell you, Heather has the strong backing of the
Lamont Group. Do you want to go against Mr. Lamont?”
“I’ve heard of him.” Estelle replied, looking up, “Even if Jonathan himself were here, I wouldn’t back
down!”
On the other side, half an hour ago, Hans had called Sallie to inquire about the progress with Mr.
Gellar, but hadn’t expected there to be a problem.
Hans wanted to go check things out, but Sallie was busy telling him, “Just keep up with your class.
Don’t worry about it. Estelle’s on it!”
“Really?”
“Yes!”
