“He was leaving J City. He asked me to go with him, but I refused. Then he asked for a hug as a
farewell, Amiee explained.
Josiah’s face was full of displeasure “So he just gets a hug whenever he wants? And you would let him
kiss you under the pretense of saying goodbye?”
Amiee was speechless. “Josiah, stop making a scene!”
“Who’s making a scene?” Josiah muttered, looking down. “You have no idea how much that hug hurt
me.”

Amiee glanced at the time and said calmly. “It’s late. You should go home, or Mrs. James will call me”
Josiah grumbled, “I’m not a kid.”
