Madelyn looked at Ethan as she walked over to sit by his bedside, “Ethan, is all of this my fault? Would
you not end up like this if I hadn’t left?”

She stayed with him for a while and said many things to him.

“I knew it. The Ethan I know must be trying very hard to stay alive. Please wake up soon, okay?”
Suddenly, she saw Ethan’s finger move noticeably with her own eyes.
She said excitedly, “Open your eyes and look at me. I know you’ve been waiting for me to come back.

Madelyn held her breath, waiting for him to wake up.
