Madelyn picked up her phone and realized it was already 7:30 p.m. Just then, a maid’s voice echoed in
the hallway. “Sir, are you heading out?”

rain was on its way as the thunder echoed.
Then, Madelyn heard Dalton’s cries from upstairs. She stood at the entrance, unsure what to do next.
