Jennifer looked up innocently and met Treyton’s gaze.

“I don’t think I’m suited for acting. That’s why I hope to step away from the entertainment industry and

take some time to figure out what I want in life. I want to choose a suitable path for myself”

Treyton heaved a sigh of relief

Oh, thank goodness… So long as she isn’t breaking off our engagement or leaving me, I’ll give her

whatever she wants, even if it includes plucking the stars from the sky!

“Sure. You have my word. Don’t worry, I won’t force you to make any choices. After all, you’re only

twenty-one years old and have zero acting experience. You have every right to reconsider your career

options,” he replied before holding a hand out to Jennifer, his gaze warm and gentle. “Ill settle things

with the production team for you. Anyway, you ought to get some rest after a tiring day. May I take you

home?”

Jennifer stared at the man’s hand for the longest time but didn’t move a muscle.

Thankfully, Treyton had all the patience in the world and didn’t mind waiting for her answer.

Jennifer, on the other hand, was struggling with her emotions. Oh, dear. What should I do? Treston rhe

epitome of a wealthy, handsome bachelor, but he’s also like a stranger to me. Besides. I’ve never dated

before and ca see myself being intimate with him. Sadly, I can’t change the fact that everyone already

knows he’s my fiance. After all news of our relationship was trending on social media for three days

straight… I should at least give it a try, shouldn’t I? Who knows? I might learn to accept him.

Jennifer slowly stretched out her hand and placed it in Treyton’s.

Naturally, the latter was overwhelmed with joy. As a contented smile tugged at his lips, he helped the

woman to her feet and led her out of the film set.

Hmm… What if I threw caution to the wind and carried her? Would she be angry? I guess I wouldn’t

know unless I tried…

Just then. Treyton stopped in his tracks.

Jennifer, who had been walking behind with her head lowered, bumped into his back.

“Mr. Treyton?” she mumbled as she rubbed her forehead and looked up.

Alas, before she could say anything else. Treyton spun around and swept her into his arms.

“W-What are you doing?” Jennifer exclaimed.

“I don’t want you to tire yourself out, so I’ve decided to carry you to the car,” Treyton replied, his voice

so deep and charismatic that Jennifer could feel her heart thumping wildly.

But there are so many people outside. I think you should put me down. I can walk on my own…”

Despite her pleas, Treyton continued to walk quickly and steadily.

“There’s nothing wrong with me carrying my fiancée. You need to start getting used to this kind of

treatment. In fact, you can also order me around if you like.”

A red-faced Jennifer instantly lowered her head, too embarrassed to resist further.

Late For The Tender Event

After carrying the young woman into the car, Treyton couldn’t help but gaze fondly at her.

She was docile and adorable, and he couldn’t be happier.

Over in Astoria, the night was dark and silent.

The presidential suite, however, was filled with a cacophony of breathless moans and grunts.

Just as Cedrick was about to initiate intimacy for the fifth time, Gwendolyn promptly placed her feet on

his chiseled chest to stop him.

“Can you calm down? Do you know how many times we’ve done it tonight? How are you still not

satisfied after four rounds?” she snapped as she glared at the man and prodded him harder.

Argh! He’d better behave and stay away from me!

“Do you not like that I’m so strong in bed?” Cedrick asked innocently.

Instead of replying. Gwendolyn gave him the stink eye. “I only want to sleep now. Tomorrow’s the

tender event, and I don’t want you ruining my plans.”

“I won’t,” Cedrick reassured before attempting to move in again. Alas, Gwendolyn’s foot kept him at

bay.

“Darling, even if you can’t get out of bed tomorrow, I can always attend the event on your behalf. It’s not

like there will be any surprises in the results.”

“Huh? So, if I’m lazy to have my meals, do I let you eat them for me too? Will I feel full once you are?”

To that, Cedrick had no response.

Gwendolyn continued, “Cedrick Jenson, this tender event is the entire purpose of my trip. It’s my job

and goal, and you can’t replace it.”

Like a child who had lost his snack privileges, Cedrick looked down and sulked in silence.

Gwendolyn felt her heart softening at the sight and sighed. “Will you behave yourself? It’s already very

late. If I don’t sleep soon, I won’t have the energy to handle tomorrow’s open tender… Tell you what,

how about we visit Astoria’s largest shopping mall after the event?”

Cedrick finally nodded.

Gwendolyn drew her leg back and crawled under the blanket to sleep.

Cedrick lay obediently beside her and pulled her into his warm embrace.

“Hey, Gwenny, speaking of the shopping mall,” he whispered as he leaned into Gwendolyn’s car,” can

you buy the dress I’ve been dying to see you wear?”

“Okay,” she replied groggily.

Satisfied, Cedrick kissed her cheek and added, “I meant the maid and cat costumes with lots of black

lace…”

Alas, Gwendolyn was so exhausted by then that she merely gave a murmur of assent and fell asleep.

That, of course, was good enough for Cedrick. “Good. Now that you’ve agreed, you can’t go back on

your word”

After ensuring Gwendolyn was all snug as a bug in a rug, he snuggled his face into her hair and slowly

drifted off

The next day, the open tender was scheduled to start at one in the afternoon.

Even though the sun was already up, the presidential suite remained dark and cozy, thanks to the

drawn.

Gwendolyn was so tired that neither she nor Cedrick woke up in time, and it was only when the event

was about to start that Neal’s assistant, Queena, hastily called the couple to check on them.

King! King! King!

The phone rang incessantly until a sleepy-eyed Gwendolyn eventually answered it.

“Ms. Harris, the tender event is starting in five minutes! Are you and Mr. Jenson caught in a traffic jam?”

Needless to say, those words instantly jolted Gwendolyn awake. “What? Only five minutes?”

Despite the aches all over her body, she hurriedly sat up and began changing her clothes,

By then, Cedrick had also been roused from his sleep and realized the gravity of the situation.

Knowing it was his fault that Gwendolyn had overslept and might even turn up late for the tender event,

he swiftly grabbed his phone and fired off a string of message

A minute later, Gwendolyn’s phone rang again.

Queena’s voice sounded on the other end, except, this time, she was no longer panicking, “Ms. Harris,

Mr. Gray has already been informed of the unique situation you and Mr. Jenson are in. The tender will

be postponed for another thirty minutes. Please take your time.”

Gwendolyn, who was putting her gown on, suddenly stopped and turned to look at the calm, collected

Cedrick.

“Hubby, are you telling me to sneak in through the back door? Do you expect the guests at the open

tender to wait just because we’re late?”

“Why not?” Cedrick replied with raised eyebrows.

Gwendolyn pouted glumly. “I don’t like doing things through the back door. I prefer—”

However, before she could finish, Cedrick stood up and pulled her into his arms. “But you like going

through my back door, Gwenny. Besides, I’ll only open it for you.”

For a moment, Gwendolyn was speechless.

My goodness… Are we even talking about the same thing now?
