suspicions.
“Do you want me to call him and check?” Cynthia asked, with no suspicion whatsoever. No matter how
much she wracked her brain, she never would have guessed that Matthew would be here. After all, she
had been told he would be arraing tomorrow.
“No need.” Old Man Tanz did not want to tip his hand. He quickly changed the subject. “Let’s focus on
our conversation. Didn’t

He had noticed the bag she was carrying when she arrived. Whenever she came to keep him company
and help alleviate bis boredorn with a game of chess, she never brought a bag. Clearly, there was
