“No need,” Joshua refused, looking gloomier than before.
After realizing that Cynthia did not make the call, he returned to his room, never coming out again.
Cynthia was curious about his reaction and was about to imessage Felix about their conversation.
However, just a second before she sent the message, she received a call from him.
“Joshua went back to his room, right?” Felix asked.
Cynthia scanned the living room and was surprised at Felix’s accurate prediction.
“Yes, he did.”
she began to wonder if there was some sort of remote surveillance.
“After the company’s annual party in a couple of days, I’ll come and see him. His current condition is
quite different from when he was younger,” Felix told her.
Cynthia agreed. “Okay, please let me know when you’re coming, and I’ll arrange for someone to pick
you up.”
“Alright”
After the call ended, Cynthia started to worry. If it was just a simple case of amnesia and cognitive
decline, she could take care of him as Sean had suppested.
Maybe one day, he will recover.
However, Joshua’s current state of mind did not seem
right.
She had planned to visit Sean the next day, but she had to go to the company and attend the annual
party, followed by a masquerade party in the evening, so her visit had to be postponed.
The next morning, Joshua woke up early to prepare breakfast.
However..
The kitchen door was locked!
He stood before the kitchen door, trying to open it several times, but it would not budge.
The noise he made startled Cynthia from her sleep. Like the day before, she came out in her pajamas
with slightly disheveled hair and said, “The door is locked.”
Joshua Inoked ar Cynthia in surprise.
Cynthia’s voice sounded a bit drowsy due to waking up early. “The injury on your hand hasn’t healed
yet, so go back to sleep. 1 ordered breakfast so you won’t go hungry.”
“Is it because I didn’t cook well?” Joshua’s bead drooped.
“No, it’s because I’m worried your injury might worsen,” Cynthia assured him.
Joshua slowly raised his head, seemingly questioning if she was telling the truth.
“I have to go to the company later. You can stay at home with Shirley. If there’s anything you want or
need, just tell Shirley. She’ll call the bodyguards for you,” Cynthia suolled, informing hiin in advance.
“Can I go to the company with you?” Joshua asked.
“No. Your identity is special. If you were seen there, it could easily attract attention,” Cynthia firmly
refusest.
The incident involving Joshua was still being kept under wraps by the media, but he would definitely be
noticed for his abnormality if he were to go out. After all, his current temperament, belwinr, and actions
were so different from before that it would not take much probing for someone to realize something was
amiss.

With the New Year approaching, Cynthia did not want any more trouble.
Suppressing his unhappiness, Joshua agreed, “Okay.”
“Be good. Go back to sleep” Cynthia tried to keep him on the right track
Joshua reluctantly returned to his room.
Thinking about what Cynthia had said, he took the phone Sean had given him and dialed his number.
It was five in the morning, and Sean was still asleep.
Hearing the continuous vibrations and ringing of his phone on the bedside table, Sean, feeling tired,
answered, “What’s up?”
“Do
o you know what happened between Cynthia and me?” Joshua asked.
“What do you mean?” Sean responded, still groggy
